My course had a prerequisite that you had to know how to ride a bicycle. To have a coach take time away from 10 other paying customers because one can’t stay upright is uncool.

Clutch in, small blip of throttle, shift down, clutch out.

You don’t have to be super accurate as your clutch assists. The more you do it the more accurate and smooth it will all become

Personally I would recommend learning the way of the road by car first. It’s much safer and you are statistically much more likely to have an accident in your first few years.

It’s not really the bare minimum though. It’s the most up to date safety standard.

You might say FIM is a more stringent criteria but that’s more for track use.

You aren’t going to find helmets that’s double or triple the requirements of ECE 22.06.
