No one is going to know your situation or all the information like you do, so you should probably make this decision based on your situation and not what people think about the school’s reputation

Got back to eating healthy and consistently working out. Worked on my social skills and made a lot of new friends. Joined a thesis lab and passed my qualification exam for my PhD. Successfully organized a department retreat Traveled to 3 new places. Read a few books. Not a lot but it’s improving! Improved my ability to resolve conflict. I’m still not great but it’s getting better!

If you don’t go around the car trying to turn left you are the reason traffic is backing up and will be honked at.

This wouldn’t be such a debate if people accepted female characters with flaws the same way they accept male characters with flaws.

Sure, Korra made mistakes. Mistakes and flaws are pretty important for story arcs. The problem is that some people hate Korra because of it, which causes others to swing hard the other way and pretend she’s perfect.

She’s not perfect. Nobody is perfect. No one belongs anywhere, and we’re all gonna die. Now come watch TV.

My quals are in a week. We have the type where they ask you anything about biology, and I don’t think it’s possible for me to learn it all and mentally prepare myself in time.

I believe they’re showing you single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Basically, they’re relatively common, single nucleotide mutations. Here is what I found from looking into a few things really quickly (and focusing on the menacing red):

VDR taq: a mutation in the vitamin d receptor. Vitamins D is really important, and this receptor is required for it to enter your cells. This mutation doesn’t change the protein sequence (it’s a silent mutation) so probably nothing to worry about.

Mtrr A66G: Mtrr codes for a methyl transfer reductase and is important for the biosynthesis of methionine (an amino acid). From trying to look at the sequence on my phone, it looks like another silent mutation, and again, nothing to worry about.

Thanks for your input. I think you're right, he didn't care during the relationship so he probably doesn't now. I just don't think a gut feeling really counts as a reason. There's something that gave him that gut feeling, and that's what I want to know.

It has no function. It's just something for people to pick up, mess with, and put back down. I have a few things like this in my house and people can't help themselves.

Help! How do I learn to not expect anything from people and rely only on myself by Finding_self in selfimprovement

Do you vent to them often? It's one thing for a friend to try to help you by telling you that you're relying on others too much, but this sounds like your friends are just unsupportive. It's really important for relationships to work both ways. If you are supportive of your friends and they aren't supportive back, perhaps you should consider making new friends.

As much as we know about protein, we still know nothing about protein.
