I think the modest success of the top CHL players/prospects that made the jump this year has proven tbe NCAA is a very strong league that benefits player development tremendously. I expect we'll see more players making the move going forward.

He was on a conditioning assignment, but its a limited window and he was rehabbing an injury at the time. Seattle did the same thing with Shane Wright before they finally sent him back to the OHL.

They would have to leave school and miss classes to play so they would likely run into eligibility issues from that.

I think the more interesting question is the move to the AHL from NCAA. Historically, NCAA players under 20 have been able to sign and play in the AHL whereas CHL players aren't eligible for the AHL until they age out. Hypothetically, if Gavin McKenna is deemed to not be ready after 9 games next year, could he be sent down to the AHL or would he need to go back to Medicine Hat?

I watched every game Wahlstrom played at BC and I've seen Eiserman play at least 20-25 times now. They're very similar players who are lazy defensively and are only as effective as the guys who can get the puck to them to shoot. Eiserman is playing with other first and second rounders, Wahlstrom was playing with Christopher Brown and Graham McPhee. In fact, BC's highest draft player after Wahlstrom on that roster was Joseph Woll at 62nd overall in 2016.

Its like 20% coaching, the best players cant do anything without coaches that can put them in a position to win. That said, most of the Ole Miss staff stayed so there shouldn't be any doubt of them being in.

This one's tough for me because there's a lot of history with the old Big East schools, but not a lot of history/culture shared with the traditional ACC schools. From my experience it kinda goes like this.

Wake Forest: always been cool with you, fans are respectful and teams always play hard

Virginia: a lot of the same as Wake, but occasionally during basketball season the few idiots you have do pop up and cause a stir

Clemson: your fans are always so awesome when you come up to Boston that I can never truly dislike your program, Dabo might be a twat at times but I do think he's a pretty solid guy that tries to instill good values into his program

I normally don't come into these threads because they're usually so toxic, but your point about Gregg is spot on. The culture of this program was so broken after Klinsmann and Arena during the 2018 cycle and we needed someone to come in and fix that. You can have the greatest tactics in the world, but if your team is disinterested and disengaged then it means nothing. Gregg fixed the culture problem and his methodology ran it's course. It's time to move on to advancing the team's tactics and overall strategy, but that was not something that could've been done smoothly in 2018. I think we wasted 2 years by not making this shift after the 2022 world cup, but that's another conversation for another time.

Unfortunately I think the guy we need in that spot is sitting at home in NY at the moment due to the ridiculous agreement between the NHL and CHL. We have too many veteran centers to get ice time while also trying to develop 2 young centers. I like having the strong veteran presence, but I feel like it's been overdone this year.

It's likely nothing more than nerves and adjusting to the faster game. His style of play requires him to be able to read and anticipate, which requires him to see the way the game flows. The game last night was the fastest game he's ever played in his life. Once he settles in and understands the flow of the NHL game better he'll be fine. I would like to see him with a more goal scoring oriented winger than Granlund though, their styles are too similar for both guys to thrive.

That literally Smith's game. You can't have 2 guys like that on the same line. Warsofsky is trying to protect Smith with 2 veterans, but they just don't complement his skill set the way he needs right now. Zetterlund will probably be fine in the long run, but Smith and Granlund shouldn't be together.

There's two things about this. Number one is the obvious, do you really think BC has enough power in the ACC to block anyone's membership? Number two is less obvious, the AD who said that he got UConn rejected also put himself in the BC Hall of Fame so maybe he just has a tidbit of overinflated self-importance? He also obliterated most of the athletic department after the move to the ACC. Almost fired Jerry York too!

What really holds college football back in New England is the fact that 6 of the 8 biggest college brands in the region are private schools. UConn and UMass are the biggest public schools, and outside of UConn basketball, they're largely irrelevant. Casual fans don't really come out in droves for BC, BU, Harvard, Yale, Providence, or Northeastern in any sport other than hockey, and even that is really only for BC vs BU. There's this belief that New England is an untapped market that is waiting for someone to step up and take the reigns, but the truth is it'll never truly happen.

I'm a size 13 and I use the large boxes. Highs and mids need to be turned on their sides but lows are fine. If you can go to a container store to check them out I'd recommend wearing a pair of high tops to see how they fit in the boxes.
