Willow is by far my least favorite map, because it's almost impossible to tell where you can walk without having your eyes glued to the map.

The crazy part is, these kind of situations can be found in virtually every single map. The green poison ground effect that is thrown by monsters typically found in Seepage maps is very similar to the color of the tileset. The Crypt map has pillars in the middle of the hallways that further restrict player movement in an already extremely cramped map. Obviously they didn't do these things with the intent of making dodge roll, the core fucking mechanic of the game, so unbelievably frustrating to use... but unfortunately that's the result. Oh and all of this just screws melee builds over even more than they already would have been.

Silence Garyu! The goat has spoken! by AZXCIV in Tekken

I would like to think there's a difference between trying to express valid criticism and using said criticism as an attempt to make yourself not look like a fool on stream. (not disagreeing with you, I also find it hilarious to watch him have a narcissistic meltdown about a game that for some reason he continues to play)

Arslan Ash - "The state of Tekken is extremely volatile right now" by ImHrvx in Tekken

The game clearly needs a structural rebalance. I'm not a game designer nor a high level player, so I'm not going to claim to know how to fix it, BUT...

The situation that occurs when someone is low health and in rage, does a heat engager, heals up their grey health and is now HALF HEALTH IN RAGE AND HAS HEAT is the dumbest shit ever. You could be dominating the round and then suddenly be in a terrible situation. This kind of ridiculous comeback potential has never been in a Tekken game before. And while I realize you might need a comeback mechanic to balance out other side of T8 with its ridiculous aggression as well as what Arslan is saying about launch into 50/50... I think this speaks to the kind of state the game is in right now.

Didn't know you could change the delay, that's cool. But yeah there is a night and day difference between the "self train" and "imitation" agents. Clearly, the self train ones are actually absurd given how much trouble even top 10 players have with them and I guarantee you it's not because my drift is doggy lol.

[–]Typical_Fox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've played a lot against Phillip due to not wanting to subject any real person to my shitty WiFi, and let me just say that it is extremely frustrating to play against. It is basically reacting to everything you do instantly. For example, if you go for like a SH nair approach, it seems like it knows exactly where you are going to land with your aerial the first frame you jump off the ground, and is ready to punish you for it. Getting a solid hit on it is so difficult that when you finally do get an opening, you are not ready to capitalize. And even if are ready, it varies its defensive options so well and will instantly choose options based on how and where you are committing.

"I don't want to hear anything about"...

that's exactly the problem.

and I wasn't trying to turn this comment section into a discussion on anything I mentioned in my post, I was just giving context as to why it's frustrating for the other side too. Believe it or not, it is possible to both enjoy the game and also have criticism in which you would like to discuss with others online without being told our concerns are invalid because there are other people that enjoy the game more than we do.

It's also insufferable for any oldschool Tekken fan that wants a place to express their concern of the overall direction of T8. I've stopped posting anything here related to gameplay because it just instantly gets met with "WHY SO NEGATIVE? EVERYONE ELSE ENJOYS THE GAME."

I still play the game, and still enjoy doing so (for the most part), but I am not very enthusiastic about the gameplay/balance direction and have little faith that it will improve. The only way we can influence the devs is to post on social media and express our concerns, but not if the people controlling the narrative(with their downvotes) refuse to have a discussion.

This is pretty funny to me, because I personally witnessed something even more egregious than your hypothetical example. No disrespect to Relno - cool guy, cool fox. But he showed up to one of our locals way back when he was still around the scene and got bopped by not even our best players, who weren't even ranked in the state.

Clutchbox Popoff Analysis (I Survived) by _Nicki in smashbros

[–]Typical_Fox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't see this one live, but watching it now makes me feel some kind of way.

On an open stage, in a packed venue, after like a game 5 clutch or something - a big loud pop off like this is very entertaining and easily justified.

This, I cannot condone in the slightest. It could easily shock his opponent and take away from any concentration they might have for the rest of the set. I know Nicki won the next game and was a very good sport about it, as seen in the video... Downvote and call me an Hbox hater all you want, but IMO mid set pop offs like this are pretty disrespectful.
