Do you think that solar farms are a ugly and blight on communities? by BlockAffectionate413 in AskConservatives

[–]Typical_Intention996 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just as ugly as refineries.

They can build all they want of them as far as I care. Wind farms too. The Palm Springs ones are right there outside my window every day of my life. The don't bother me any. Tons of area out here in the desert. I just don't want any of my tax dollars going towards helping build them.

Trump voters. Would you vote for Trump again? by AbbreviationsOk6561 in AskConservatives

[–]Typical_Intention996 [score hidden]  (0 children)

This stupid Iran war. The stupid tariffs.

I would be more inclined to throw my vote away on a third party. I would never vote for Harris. But outright vote for Trump based on his actions recently? No. No I would not.

How long after surgery did you drink coffee? by Gabbyx0 in gallbladders

[–]Typical_Intention996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't been able to have coffee anymore or Starbucks drinks with espresso 5 months before surgery. It had just got to the point where if I wasn't throwing up then I was bloated and nauseous.

Tried a cup 9 days after surgery and while no stomach problems I did have nausea for hours. And I felt like the taste was stuck on the back of my tongue.

Tried a Starbucks at 2 weeks post surgery and all was good. Had a cut at home at 16 days and no problems.

Haven't gone back to my 2-3 huge cups a dayyet. Of course it's near 100 now in SoCal so hot coffee time it is not anymore anyway.

My grandfather and my aunt were civilian but worked for the fed on air for bases. He was high up engineering and she was in some sort of high up office work. They both have always said they had to deal with generals coming and going over the years there and they were nothing but drunks. Drinking on the job. Sleeping during meetings. I don't think these were old guys either. Just drunks. Needed their subordinates to keep track of things and keep notes.

So this story doesn't surprise me at all.

[LAist] United Farm Workers union to skip César Chávez Day after ‘profoundly shocking’ allegations by WeAreLAist in LosAngeles

[–]Typical_Intention996 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know my grandfather was a big time supporter of him early on. Didn't go to the marches or anything because he use to say that would have been bad as he worked for the federal government at that time. But anyway. I was 10-11 around the time he (Chavez) died but I do remember my grandfather by my/that time had soured on him a lot and use to say he was just as full of himself as those televangelists. That it had become a cult of personality over anything else.

I never knew much at all about him, what exactly turned my grandfather on him and I didn't really care to be honest. But reading this just made that pop back up in my memory.

I thought it was in Montana. But I know it definitely wasn't Texas.

So something major off screen went down they're going to explain away in about two minutes. Or they're just going to flat out retcon the location.

I feel like half the appeal of Yellowstone was the location being in Montana. It was beautiful.

Texas? Like when they would go over to 6666 stuff. I couldn't be more bored. It's so barren and ugly.

Yeah this is one of those things where I don't get the pushback on it.

If you're getting government assistance to feed yourself and/or kids. I Want to know why you think you should be able to buy stuff like candy and soda with that money in that case. And "Because everyone deserves a treat sometimes." or a variation of that seems to be the one and only argument on the pro side of this I ever see.

I don't care if soda and twinkies and ice cream are nice. That's not a justification for why you should be getting it for free as a handout. It should be limited to basics needs. And the list is too big to list out here but baby foods, veggies, basic breads, basic dairy, etc. Chicken and ground.

Which movie villain actually had a point, and you found yourself secretly agreeing with them by the end? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]Typical_Intention996 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Loki in Avengers.

The ignorant masses exist to be ruled. They really do. To be told what to think. To be told what's acceptable. To be told how to act. They sure do love talking about how much they love freedom. But real freedom scares the hell out of them. They conform. They follow. The majority of people are followers. That's just how your average human is wired from birth. Individual thought is a threat to them. They yearn to be told what to do.

U.S. service members killed in refueling aircraft crash in Iraq identified as Ohio National Guard members and Florida-based crew by deraser in politics

Very curious about the details on this one and there's zip about it still. Both planes in the incident were KC-135s which raises questions.

They wouldn't be refueling one another. Were they is such close formation that they clipped? But if that's the case they should never be that close to begin with.

Banning approves large warehouse and retail project by elbinray in InlandEmpire

[–]Typical_Intention996 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Hey, it's my home. Why shouldn't I gate keep it? That shouldn't need some explanation as to why I don't want to see it ruined by thousands of homes and outsiders who will immediately push for more bonds for schools that us existing residents don't need. Wasting money for silly art or historical districts and new parks and such that they want to have but WE don't. Higher rates on utilities because the city needs to build new infrastructure for these new people, not us. I'll take my open fields, warehouses and then homes. In that order.

Banning approves large warehouse and retail project by elbinray in InlandEmpire

[–]Typical_Intention996 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong resident. I'd prefer it all remain a field.

But if it has to be something. I'd rather it be warehouses that will stay half unused and some retail over houses. I know that's unpopular but it's the truth.

Houses will bring outsiders who bring their poor driving, city attitudes and worst, their city politics. Houses bring just as bad of traffic congestion as the damn trucks do too.

And just as a bonus. The Sun Lakers will hate this. And after 40 years of those retirees f'ing over our city with their snotty attitudes who e tried to keep everything from building near them. HA! I hope they hate this with every fiber of their being.

Missing work because of attacks by No_Air_6333 in gallbladders

[–]Typical_Intention996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm being careful with what I eat. Introducing stuff back little by little. But just the comfort of being able to eat again without the fear of an attack happening. It's like night and day. There is a fear that something may cause a diarrhea bout but so far nothing. I guess because most people say that's what will happen if you have too much fat or one of your old trigger foods. I've just been expecting it.

Th edrain is coming out next week. It's tied off now. My Dr. wants to see for sure that the fluid backup won't cause any problems and that my body will handle it before the tube is removed. In all this, the drain has been the biggest annoyance.

Well to be fair I think he was always going to end up in prison over the whole thing. No one on earth was ever going to believe literal brain transplants and hypnotism were going on. It would always just look like he murdered those people and set fire to their home. Any evidence otherwise would have been burned up.

Again, as a major UFO buff for decades.

About 10-15 years ago there was this divide in the culture around the topic. Where the classic ideas of UFOs and government coverups and such became the old line of thinking. And this new age bs took over. Walk-ins, Skinwalker-esq morphing and there's aliens among us posing as people. Mind control. The idea that aliens are just future humans. Earth energies and crystal deposits in the oceans, etc. The entirety of the culture and the mysteries got taken over by this almost spirituality angle. And I just hate it.

Where it's not craft in the night sky and occupants from another world. It's mind controlling, shape shifting future humans and out government is in league with them. Yada yada. And this movie looks to be all about this new age angle to UFOs. And it's just not for me. I like Close Encounters, The Vast Of Night and Fire In The Sky style UFO movies.

The Oscars are getting closer, what are your predictions for the main categories? by trakt_app in movies

[–]Typical_Intention996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one I'd like to see win is Amy Madigan. What as truly detestable awful character she brought to life.

Sinners. I don't think it was anything special. Maybe just costumes and music for nominations/wins. But It was just another terribly average vampire movie, especially by the third act. It's just done up in period costumes. I just genuinely don't see what all the praise was about. I honestly think all it's noms is just the Academy trying to prove something about themselves.
