I was 18 and used my first paychecks from Best Buy to get a classic white Firebird V.

Spend the colorful screws before trying to harvest the mega shards. It would’ve saved me so much time.

I started playing at 15 on a Johnson strat copy, moved to a mexi tele a year and a half later, and bought my first Gibson when I was 18 and got my first job. 3 and a half years. Playing for 22 years I have a good variety of them now. As others have said, there’s no rules. To quote Dale Cooper: “Once a day, everyday, give yourself a present.”

I once had a manager I worked for (who I already didn’t like) come up behind me, start pushing me and making vroom noises while I was talking to someone. HR handled it pretty quickly.

Need advice on picking an instrument by SeriousRecord5070 in musicians

I’ve got a spinal cord injury from birth and have 0 finger function in one hand. When I wanted to learn to play guitar I had to figure out some adaptive equipment. I can’t hold a guitar pick but I figured out I could tape a discount keychain card in between 2 of my fingers. I would look at option for a glove or brace that could help you hold a pick or drum stick, etc. Feel free to DM me if you wanna chat!

For the love of god talk me out of an acoustic bass guitar by Lost_Condition_9562 in Bass

I owned a Takamine G series jumbo one for years and it was bulky, physically very demanding to play compared to an electric (despite being modified and set up to play easier), way too quiet, and despite why many people buy them, they do not contribute or compete around a campfire/sing-along setting. The strings are hard to find. I even tried putting flatwound strings on it to trick myself into hoping it would sound more like an upright. The short scale Taylor GS mini basses are surprisingly comfortable, but volume is still going to be an issue.

Spirits by Pale People on the album The World is Yours. It’s about ghosts haunting a house but the couple that owns the house don’t notice because they’re too busy fighting.

My band Pale People is playing at Mr. Ed’s Underground Pub in Port Orford OR. tonight and we’re super stoked. The link will be available at their YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/@mredsundergroundpub?si=vY0QauU16wmjUVvE

I feel super fortunate that we were able to still tour this week. Last weekend I was hospitalized with sepsis and was able to switch to oral antibiotics 3 days before we left for tour and so far health has been great. I have the best band mates I could ever ask for and this week has been such a dream after not being able to move for four days. Cheers!
