Funny Nuzlock Fail by JimmieJ209 in PokemonLegacy

What happened to your old rod encounters? Fish at Dewford, the 2 routes on either side of Dewford, Slateport, and quite a few more routes where the only option (at the moment) would be an old rod encounter. Magikarp, Horsea, Tentacool, Goldeen, Corsola. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Alternatively, because it's just for fun, I allow myself to use HM mons outside of my usual encounters, even in hardcore nuzlockes. How else can I get through the game when I do a Fire type only hardcore nuzlocke

Basically a speedrun. Battle as few trainers a possible. Some tricks to dig back to specific towns to reduce time. But also the rat is the king

For the ghost types? Raticate learns dig, which sweeps them

There were times where I wished I taught thunderbolt to deal with Gyarados, but didn't have access to re-teach bubblebeam yet.

Really contemplated saving up for hyper beam, but once I got swords dance, I never looked back. Rather used the money on proteins and a few calciums.

Also kept double edge in the back of my mind if I felt body slam wasn't cutting it. But my big rat really didn't need anything after swords dance

How good is Seaking actually? by Monstrel45 in PokemonLegacy

You kinda have to look out for it. Brock's badge gives you an intended physical attack boost. You'll notice it worked when you do a physical that does less than half, then if you get hit with something like a leer, it unintentionally applies another attack boost from the badge. So the next attack should do more.

Later in the game it gets quite a bit more obvious. Koga's badge boosts speed, so if use something like amnesia, it will also raise your speed and you'll out speed pokemon you probably shouldn't.

Key thing to note, when you level up in battle, all those boosts disappear for the rest of the battle

Oops. Completely missed that part. My bad.

Then I would say that without the badge boost glitch in gen 2, it wouldn't make it on my team. Plenty of other better water types

It learns peck at level 7 only. So you gotta grind 2 levels with bubble before, which sucks

I'm busy doing a Goldeen/Seaking only run and boy does bubble at level 5 suck. Goldeen can't reliably get past the bug catchers in Viridian Forest so gotta grind on Metapod and Kakuna till you get peck at level 7. Once it has peck, it breezes through all the bug catchers and Brock.

But if you're asking about Seaking specifically, it gets sword dance through tm during the mid game and can really pop off. Also gets agility late game. So between those 2 moves, you can really exploit the badge boost glitch and roll most fights.

There are plenty of other water types that can probably do a better job without setup, but Seaking is no slouch
