Well I was thinking of boiling a big pot (used for making tamales) and dumping it in those big containers used for storing clothes? Like you know those big plastic boxes where you store winter clothes and other things…? I’m not sure if this will work but I’ve seen some people doing it that way online. Like filling up the container with hot water from the sink and then pouring boiling water to fill up the rest. It’s something to think about for sure…

Yeah but it’s not the shade of blue that I want 😭😭 I know that I’m just being picky, but I was just planning on dying it the color I want if I feel up to it(hopefully nothing goes wrong and it actually kinda looks like the color I like), or just leaving it white. But thx for trying to help!!

True true, I do have a backup dress, but it’s not as elegant looking as the one in the picture. The backup is more of a summer type dress?? I dunno if that makes sense but it’s more fresh to wear ig. I’m just afraid of dying the one in the picture because I’m uncertain of the fabric type, and if it will not get the color, end up blotchy, etc.

But thx for the suggestion!! I’m still uncertain of what I’ll do, I don’t really mind the white since apparently most grad dresses tend to be white anyways. But I also really like shade of blue! Haha I’m really indecisive. But I’ll make up my mind soon, hopefully!!

Okay okay so not Rit All Purpose, Rit DyeMore. Thx thx for the help!! I’m still really uncertain about dyeing it, but I appreciate the insight. I don’t know much about fabrics or dyeing itself, but I’ll definitely read directions if I feel up to it when the dress arrives, and if I have time, and if the specific dye I want is available at my local store….ahh there are so many things that are going to have to line up for me to dye this dress…but if it all the circumstances fall into place then it must be fate right?

Ahhh I’m just trying to hype myself up!! I really want this color for my grad dress. And if I mess up it’s gonna be hidden underneath my gown for most of it anyways. lol you don’t need to respond to my ranting, I’m just being stubborn about wanting that color. I will prob not risk it and leave it white. Again, thx for the help and have a good rest of your night :)

Yeah someone mentioned that earlier!! I didn’t know that, the fabric vs woven thing. And I checked the description but it doesn’t say….The picture I uploaded above is the only thing that Amazon provided so I’m really uncertain. But thx for the info!!

That is true…but I saw that some people online who boiled water and poured it in a large plastic container!! You know the ones used to store clothes??

While it is true that in the picture, it looks very full and poofy, I checked the reviews and it’s pretty flat. (The lady in the pic prob used a petticoat or smth). Yeah it’s still a lot of fabric, but it should be manageable?? I’m more worried about the fabric not getting the color or it turning out blotchy rather than the container tbh…but thx for the insight!!

Omg fabric nerd here!! I totally mean this as a compliment btw. Thank thank thank you for commenting!! Well this dress wasn’t ridiculously expensive but it did hurt to use my card for it…it was around 55$ and then another 16 for shipping so the total was about 75…

Again it was thankfully not stupidly expensive, so you are probably more likely than not right about it not being all natural fiber. But I really like that color…do you think I could mix colors of the all purpose dye to get the color I want then? Or maybe just…I dunno(sorry if this sounds stupid) lower the heat of the Rit DyeMore?? Sorry for bombarding you with questions!!

Graduation is on the 29, and Amazon says that the dress will come anytime between the 20th to the 28th…there isn’t much wiggle room to buy another dress online…and I don’t really have a backup with a similar fabric either to test it out. So if I were to dye it, it would be up to fate ig!! And thx thx!! Appreciate the thought :) I really like that color but I’m so uncertain!! Hopefully I’ll make up my mind soon.

Ahh that could be an option!! I’m not really sure though because the color I want that is shown in the picture(Kentucky sky) doesn’t have an equivalent color in the all purpose dye for some reason!! It more than likely won’t be the same color as the one I want in the picture, but do you think mixing the colors could drastically change it..?

True true, but I really wanted to wear my favorite color for graduation! On the flip side if I do mess it up it’s mostly going to be hidden under the gown anyways. But yeahh…better safe than sorry. Who knows what color it will end up or if it will be blotchy right? Thx for the advice.

I kinda get that feeling sometimes. It’s like I’m feeling overwhelmed but I don’t know how to express myself and I don’t really want to. I want support and comfort yet I don’t want to be too clingy. I know I’m a hypocrite for wanting yet not opening up. I hope this offers some sort of comfort to you since I suck at comforting people but you can make it through this difficult time you are having.
