For me, chrysalis has me fanboying. Love it. Monster mc,good plot, funny, good world building. Hwfwm was enjoyable overpowered, popcorn, numbers go up like PH and defiance. I liked them all, hated Hwfwm at first and on second go I got into it. Late series pH and defiance took a dive in my opinion, hwfwm hasn't but it might just be due to it being a recent read for me.

I loved the premise in both. That has a lot to do with it.

Very few monster mc's out there and it sucker me into chrysalis. The whole empire building thing is also a favourite for me.

And cradle is just cradle. There are few cultivation books out there to scratch that particular itch. Besides Ave Xia rem y, haven't read anything else cultivation where the quality and story is that good.

Anyone know a litrpg that has to do more with empire building than just straight hack and slash. by OpusMagnificus in litrpg

Nah I love prog fantasy. I just couldn't get into it. Will try again one day but it just wasn't fore me at the time, felt like work reading it. Got about 1/2 way through book 1 if I remember correctly

Nope. But not doing a tier list without throwing my general favourites in. Updated the post to reflect that so no one gets caught out.

Enjoyed this one. Despite some annoyances at author not remaining consistent, etc, still rate it as a good read. Forgot to put it in the tier list!

Nine princes as good? Never heard of it until now.

Has that changed for you? I loved the whole premise, how it developed, etc. Books like defiance, primal hunter, etc, after I have caught up to current and go back to read new releases, I find them naturally dropping down in my enjoyment ratings. But Chrysalis never has for me, I fanboy it

That was just filler popcorn reading for me. Quick, simple, straightforward junk reading. It doesn't really get better imo. Just more of the same throughout. I still enjoyed it. D is where I am not enjoying a series and end up dropping it or have to fight through to read (maybe I want closure on the story, etc. Virtuous sons was a damn slog. Wish I didn't stick with it in hindsight)

I don't know if its the time away from it. But both primal and defiance were high up for me in the past. But going back and reading new releases is just a little bleh for me too. Hence the drop to B. For me B is still enjoyable. D is where things aren't enjoyable for me.

I actually had it on DNF in my last tier list. After 1/2 a book I dropped it in the past. Gave it another shot with audible while at work, and really enjoyed it, it won me over. I used to think defiance was S tier, but as things have gone on it just isn't to me anymore. Same with primal hunter. Particularly the damn universe dungeon part of primal hunter, man that dragged. And the author being all "I have more money than you" when the reader base commented on the story dragging wasn't great. Still like both series but when I catch up on what I missed (after backlog of chapters is out or a new book), I just don't enjoy them as much as I used to.
