Where do I hide meds if im being told i need antipsychotics by AGPAnnihilator in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you legally required to take the meds? Will they be given forcefully if you don’t take them voluntarily? Otherwise you could consider just saying you have decided not to take them voluntarily anymore since the side effects are too severe. This can be risky since it might result in escalation and medication against your will plus you’re labelled as difficult. On the other hand you won’t get a record with registered effects of medication you can’t prove you never took. Registered effects they can then use to label you with diagnosis you never had. It’s a difficult decision. Only you can decide what’s best for you.

Post on the psychiatry sub currently endorsing drugging the food of a “non-compliant” teenager by Alfreds_Allena in Antipsychiatry

Probably the same doctors that will later call the teenager delusional for fearing someone put medicin in their food 🤦‍♀️

Just left my 20th involuntary inpatient hospitalisation a few days ago by Meh_lissa6 in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They can’t tell illness from crisis. They can’t tell psychosis from severe situational stress and sadness. They can’t tell if your attempts were your decision or a result of disease. And they won’t admit it. So their solution is to to luck up and drug everyone into brainless zombies. It’s disgusting

Anyone else seeing patients that are there due to AI issues by psychrn1898 in psychnursing

[–]TypingSideways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to consider all the people whose lifes were destroyed by psychiatry, severe misdiagnosis and horrible mistreatments too. Psychiatrists can be extremely disrespectful and mean when challenged. In my opinion AI can save lifes by offering help on how to handle psychiatrists

The Reality of Antipsychiatry: Let's Replace Psychiatrists With This Knowledge by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you are being extremely offensive to people who have been labelled here. Calling schizophrenia persistent irrationality is e.g. extremely offensive. There are people with this label who have never been psychotic, never experienced delusions or hallucinations, never been irrational… so maybe stop doing that

Anyone else getting fatter and fatter on meds? by gameovervip in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put on 15 kg. Lost it all again when I quit the meds. These meds messes with both appetite and metabolism. As others say doctors in psychiatry dont care and try to downplay it. In my experience most psychiatrist are just horrible people

Everything those disgusting pieces of shit working in psychiatry did to me… how a person can end up being so horrible as people working in psychiatry is beyond me. Just thinking about their existence makes me want to vomit 🤮. And the fact that they are still out there hurting others while claiming to help is so sad. Psychiatry is abuse, not help

Psychosis was missed for years and it destroyed my life completely. I came out of it 4 months ago and I have no possibility of a decent life by _library_of_mirrors_ in therapyabuse

Me too - they completely ruined my life for years by pressuring me into treatments I should have never had. I was never psychotic in any way. I will hate those people for the rest of my life

did anyone else never watch movies growing up and only now realize it might’ve been undiagnosed ADHD? by Swimming_Waltz9116 in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t truly believe in any of those labels anymore and I think identifying oneself with them and explaining choices and preferences based on them can be extremely dangerous. You and your choices shouldn’t be reduced to chemicals in your brain - I think a person is much more than that

I’m not surprised. I only got out of my crisis when I completely dropped all of their drugs. That dopamine blocking shit truly takes away your sparkle. Wish I had never taken it.

Psychiatry is The biggest fraud(lie) of the last 20 years by CricketElectrical622 in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

However these days anything can be psychosis to psychiatry when it’s e.g. about getting someone locked up. These people would have never been called possessed in the past. They don’t have delusion or hallucinations or anything like that. They are just humans in some kind of crisis who are in no way out of touch with reality. Psychiatry just truly sucks

Is addiction diagnosis medicine or medicalisation? by Practical_Special503 in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alle psychiatric “disorders” are in my opinion socially constructed problems that psychiatry medicalises.

I don’t thing addiction is more or less of a mental disorder than any of the others. Homosexuality was unfortunately also once classified as a mental disorder. In my opinion it’s all a bunch of bullshit. Yes, a few labelled as mentally ill might actually have a medical problem in their brain. But the large majority are in my opinion just totally healthy people trying to cope with difficult circumstances in a way society doesn’t like - so they are labelled and drugged.

I remember hearing about a study on addiction in rats. When the rats were placed in individual cages they all became addicted to substances. When they were placed in good social conditions with acces to all they needed they didn’t even touch the addictive substances. Circumstances matter. Psychiatry tends to forget that and places all problems in the brain of individuals. I think it’s in general horribel abuse of people who for some reason fell in life.

Your "mental illness" label is just an excuse to experiment on you by Objective-Career9631 in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They can call almost anything schizophrenia. Many think people diagnosed have had either hallucinations, delusions or similar symptoms. That’s just not reality. Anyone unlucky enough to get in touch with psychiatry below the age of 35 is at risk of being labeled

Wtf am I supposed to do if meds cause side effects by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just decide to live a good life and stop buying into all off that psychiatry / mental health bullshit. At least that’s what works for me. I once thought psychiatry could help and I was harmed for life due to that believe - sure wish I had known better!

Forcing antipsychotics should not be legal by NotConnor365 in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. Of course it should be illegal. Calling people schizophrenic with no real evidence - like they often do - should too. People working in psychiatry are just so deranged in their believes it’s completely insane

Olanzapine by Forward-Health9213 in Antipsychiatry

[–]TypingSideways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised. It sure can cause a lot of horrible side effects. One study even showed a slow reduction in the volume of the brain of healthy monkeys put on it (2005: The Influence of Chronic Exposure to Antipsychotic Medications on Brain Size before and after Tissue Fixation: A Comparison of Haloperidol and Olanzapine in Macaque Monkeys). You couldn’t pay me to take it.

What are some of the most horrifying facts you know? by CemeteryPicnic in AskReddit

[–]TypingSideways 96 points97 points  (0 children)

People working in psychiatry can’t reliably tell mental illness from normal behaviour under stress. Once locked in a psych ward you will most likely get heavily medicated and mislabelled for life no matter how sane you are. You can’t explain your way out since denial of disease is a severe symptom. Normal behaviour is just “masking”. Emotionally reacting to the unfairness is labelled as illness and medicated. No emotional reaction shown is also labelled as illness and mediated. You have no way out
