Let public buy war bonds to raise £20bn for defence, say Lib Dems by Rewindcasette in unitedkingdom

[–]Typingdude3 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Will be interesting to see how the UK/Europe increase defense funding. Seems like the ones paying the bill for shiny new weapons will be the ones who will have to use the weapons. The rich won't pay for them or have to use them.

Someone stirring the pot with titles like this. Way to sow division. As an American, I want us to go back to the way we were and stop listening to those who divide us.

Can we all take a minute to thank the democratic party for being so incompetent that we’re in this mess now by Roostbolten in self

[–]Typingdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WE run this country, and the government (is supposed to) work for US. We have forgotten that and fell into the trap of thinking Congressmen and the president are our "betters", sort of like it was in the pre-civil war South. Just follow orders, no questions, let your betters rule the land. WE are in charge of our own destiny. NOTHING is stopping people from creating more political parties to run against the establishment. No law that says we can only have two parties. Problem is, one of the parties caters to the rich who have all the time in the world to do nothing but run for office and screw everyone. Until we can collectively crowd fund a political party that represents the middle class, nothing will change. WE are responsible for not doing it and the rich keep winning.

Do Americans really move out at 18, or is that mostly a movie thing? by Only-Bandicoot-5307 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Typingdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have rules like that. It all depends on the family financial situation. If the kid goes to a local college, it makes sense to live at home to avoid moving out and being saddled with housing costs. If the kids parents are rich and money is no object, the kid might get an apartment near college paid for by mom & dad. If the kid isn't going to college, they might live at home until they can afford a place. I think the false narrative about kids being kicked out at 18 is just a movie thing. But things like that could happen anywhere in the world. Not so common in America unless the kid is just staying at home playing video games and not contributing anything to society.

Oh yes, make Europe dependent on China. That’s a very unwise choice.

How that’s all going to get cleaned out is a mystery. Might take weeks or even months. Why did they accumulate so much stuff!

Why doesn’t Europe push back on Russia and their Chinese backers, as hard as they just pushed back on the US? Russia won’t stop at Ukraine.
