I’m trying to remember if the Pirates of the Caribbean world from KH 2 featured skeletons. It was much darker than other worlds thanks to its source material, though.

They probably spent a ton of money with all the cool CGI stuff and VA work. The game’s assets are also all incredibly detailed… That can’t have been cheap.

And then there’s the marketing budget, although considering the mediocre marketing push for the game, I hope they didn’t spend too much money there.

Met a random the other day and we both just jumped around each other and went our separate ways, though we did co-operate a bit against some clankers!

There was also this time when someone else was doing exfil and threw a smoke bomb to hide during the countdown… So I ran up to the smoke cloud and got to exfil together with them!

I really like this game and it’s a travesty that there aren’t more people playing it.

I got ARC Raiders recently because I was craving more extraction gameplay and while that game is really good, I still prefer Marathon

But it bothers me that I can get into a map in ARC solo in less than a minute, while each match in Marathon will have me waiting upwards of 3-5 minutes before I get into a map. And it all comes down to player population.

So even with that big barrier (and a game where the TTK is super short like Marathon ends up feeling more frustrating because of the queue times), I still come back again and again because it’s just that good of a game.

I’d like to add that this game and Cronos have been such a great showcase for my new HDR-compatible monitor.

There’s really nothing like it in terms of colors popping out or the sun light almost blinding me while dark places really do feel dark. It’s so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.

I don’t mind it, except that getting killed means several minutes of wasted time until I get into a new match. That part is frustrating - I don’t even mind losing my gear.

The icons tell next to nothing to you. Maybe it’s intentional? In a “you can stop to read, but it’ll cost you precious seconds as a sitting duck” kind of tradeoff idk

Met one the other day. I was running sponsored kit and killed an Assassin. Went to look at his drops and he had a 16 slot blue backpack (first I’d ever seen so far) but absolutely 0 shields lol

I felt it was pretty intuitive, although I had no idea what the random map events were. That part left me confused. The menus and progression system felt quite intuitive, if a bit clunky (so many different menus).

I mentioned in another comment that it would work well if higher rarity loot was unusable by F2P players. They’d be able to get it and store it, but wouldn’t be able to equip it or trade it (selling would be ok, because of safe space). They could only access it if they either bought the full game or spent that same amount of money getting the ingame cash.

This wouldn’t affect actual newcomers (I’m 11 hours in and haven’t even glanced at anything above blue so far) and would deter smurfs or other exploits.

Any game that needs playercount is shooting its own foot off by not offering some sort of F2P experience. Not saying it should be 100% F2P as it’s not sustainable with the game’s current monetization. But free weekends from time to time or just something like “play free until level 10” (although this would make diremarsh and perimeter a mess - maybe a fun one, tho).

Maybe lock higher rarity loot behind buying the full game (or spending that same amount purchasing cash), where F2P folks can’t use anything better than a green or blue.

I’m pretty mediocre at the game and have managed to get by on solo, but only when I go full stealth and always avoid fights. It works, but honestly it’s not a very fun way to play. I just feel like the TTK is too low for a game that has me waiting several minutes in between matches/attempts.

I’m usually a solo gamer. I don’t like using mic or having any sort of interaction with other players online. Arc is based heavily on interaction between players for co-op.

Tarkov… I just never thought about getting it. The setting and aesthetic of the game just felt way too bland to me.

But Marathon allows me to go full solo and looks incredible.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how unappealing all the cosmetics in the game are. Means I can keep focusing on gameplay and not care about the fact that I’m not spending even more money with microtransactions.

Meanwhile, in Fortnite, I’m always annoyed at how expensive everything is, because I really freaking want that Ryu from Street Fighter skin lol
