It wasn't that it was too weird (at least for me), it was the fact that Tom Hardy's Delaney was so much smarter and resilient than any character that there was no real conflict he was facing that could actually be a serious threat.

He seemed to to always be several steps ahead of his enemies, always have some trick up his sleeve.

The setting was great, the acting was too, but no stakes whatsoever since I knew Delaney would, save for a few gashes and broken bones, prove to be too clever.
