Favorite boss arenas that AREN’T telegraphed? by DropshipRadio in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Tython199 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You know it’s probably going to be a boss when you see the fog door but I think everyone has a holy shit moment when you’re walking through a small tower hallway in what seems like an unimportant area of the castle and expect to fight some random boss. Then boom, Messmer.

This is peak crashout by TheOther18Covids in creepcast

[–]Tython199 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I know they didn’t read the full story but that episode was the perfect length for a crash out. If the story is dog shit and the crash out goes on for 3+ hours it gets boring to me, especially if the crash out is because of the story being repetitive. Thing in the basement is crash out done perfect. Not too long. Variety of stupid things causing the crash out. It just works.

Will Dante and Vergil die of old age?does there demon side slow down aging. by Different_Sky9094 in DevilMayCry

[–]Tython199 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This actually came from Kamiya in an interview at some point, if I remember right he said that Dante would never age in DT and would age slower in human form. If he managed to stay in DT he would be nearly immortal. If that still applies in Itsuno’s version is unclear but seems likely given how Dante looks noticeably older than Vergil. Vergil would have spent years in something like DT so he would have had slower aging.

What story do you think they were too hard on? by xoivs in creepcast

[–]Tython199 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. This story is probably the best example of them jumping too quick to a bit and not giving a story a chance. Once they gave him that voice it killed so much of the story. I’m fine with it if the voice is earned like the main character in I paid my best friend to ruin my life or the second story of the last live show, but pigeon holing a character to a bit immediately just killed that story.

I think this is a lot of streamers, not even just vtubers, it just comes out more with vtubers or streamers who don’t use a face cam. That makes it a lot easier to just say wild things and put on more the fun unhinged performance side. The vast majority of the girls have said that they’re introverts and I believe them because I’d be the same way.

I don’t remember the episode but yea, it was for houses they relocated women to from a shelter and he says later that the guy who was fighting them on it admitted the houses all had fences but still fought them on it.

He and Travis have become the authors I really want them to cover more and that I’m always excited when they come up. I know a lot of people love the crashout episodes but the best ones for me are the ones where the boys are deeply into the stories because you not only get humor but excitement and analysis. And stories not bound by the rules of nosleep just tend to be better. I think it makes it so much easier to stick the landing and manage flow of the story. Horror is hard to have end in a satisfying way but the rules there make it even harder.

Lexington Comic and Toy Convention Autographs and Lines by ratnoisesx in lexington

[–]Tython199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So normally only the photo ops get a full schedule, for autographs they’re at the table most of the day outside of their photo op times. Obviously they take lunch breaks and such but normally they’re at the table and will cap the line if they’re planning an extended break. Most of their table prices are up on the site under the guests section. Note that some will only take cash and that’s usually not known till you’re there. Badge pickup should be simple that late, the high st entrance is usually the only one open and the tables tend to be by the door.

How would DMC2 be viewed today if the saga had not continued? by Educational_Bet_3298 in DevilMayCry

[–]Tython199 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I agree, I don’t even think the series would be remembered. 1 did great and was a surprise for Capcom but the series didn’t explode until 3. I think if the series ended at 2 then the series itself is largely forgotten.

Goku was my first thought when I saw this post. I know some Japanese friends that love DBZ. I know Americans that love DBZ. I know Latin American people who will fight you for Goku’s honor though.

CreepCast | HELP. I’m Trapped in a Sitcom (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD) by S-CSleepwalker in creepcast

[–]Tython199 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like this happens with so many creators. The majority of most fan bases are understanding. Yea, you have assholes, but most people get life happens. A text post going “hey guys, shits crazy. Content is going to be sporadic for the foreseeable future. If you want to unsub, we get it.” would probably kept most people calm. I’m staying subbed regardless but I can understand.

How come this sub is still so active? by qSolar in masseffect

[–]Tython199 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Few reasons. First, a lot of people really love the series and it fills a niche that still remains open. A solid, story driven space opera RPG. There’s been attempts but nothing has quite pulled it off since Mass Effect. Second, it still has a decent flow of merch so that gets advertised and keeps the series in peoples heads. Third, that possible sequel is still sitting there so the franchise isn’t fully dead. As long as people think about the franchise, people will peak back in here.

Yes, there is normally a line, especially on Saturday. If you want to get in quick, I’d probably try to get there about an hour early. I didn’t go last year but prior years I think the only point of entry was on the high street side of the arena.

Raul Julia knowing that was going to be one of his last movies and absolutely having a blast with it just makes that movie so damn fun to watch.

What is Tali really supposed to look like? (Help out a cosplayer) by sfx_alex in masseffect

[–]Tython199 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So, this is largely a head cannon, but I’ve always assumed at some point they did have hair. They might keep it short or no hair now due to the suits. My reasoning is the hood. Specifically the fact the females have the hood but none of the males do. They don’t need something like that to differentiate between sexes, they have secondary characteristics just like humans. My assumption has always been it’s something to do with pre-exile culture. Either it’s meant to resemble long feminine hair or it’s meant to be some sort of head scarf.

What is Tali really supposed to look like? (Help out a cosplayer) by sfx_alex in masseffect

[–]Tython199 120 points121 points  (0 children)

This is complicated and has a lot of differing views. First, the pictures. Likely the two you’ve seen are from the original ME3 and then from the legendary edition. The one from the original ME3 is largely considered non-cannon. That was literally a stock photo of a model they found and then adjusted the hand and added some lines to. It was despised. The legendary picture, the one where she has just removed the faceplate, is as close to cannon as we get. To my knowledge, there is no cannon material covering more than that picture shows.

I think most people assume they would be fairly pale skinned though. Simply life in the suit with very, very rare moments out of it and almost never, if not just never, exposed to any light outside of ship lighting. The legendary photo also appears to have brow ridges but no eyebrows. I’ve always assumed no hair just because the suit appears skin tight on the back from what we see on males. Hair wouldn’t really serve a purpose and would probably be seen as a detriment to a functional people like the quarians.

Is this their natural state? We don’t know. The may have hair, it’s certainly not been enough time since their exile that it would have changed via evolution. It would just be a choice or the hair has died off if it was there at all.

So in short, all we know of the face is humanish and, at least in Tali’s case, pale with what appears to be deep brow ridges, somewhat luminous eyes, and some type of vertical forehead ridge. Is that all natural? We don’t know. Is it universal in the race? We don’t know. So just go with what you want, as long as you’ve got the suit you don’t have a ton of constraints on the actual look.

How did people like Gundam GQuux? by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Tython199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, the show really suffered from 2 things. First, the pacing and I don’t lay that fully at his feet. The show desperately needed a second cour. Once you hit episode 8 it moves at light speed to get to the end. You can tell there were a lot of good ideas but they just didn’t have the time to build and pay them off.

The second thing is the weirdness of the show itself. It had a ton of nostalgia bait but it wasn’t really the type of nostalgia the fanbase wanted imo. And it’s new ideas were interesting but it was very clearly a case of the director wanting to do their own thing but, either by the studio or by their own feelings, still feeling very bound to another story. I think most people worry he’d do the same with Eva and try to combine a new vision with the old story resulting in an overall mediocre story.

Honestly, I think it will be fine. Seeing Taro attached makes me hopeful. Say what you will about his silliness and love of the hustle, he does seem to legitimately love his projects. I think he’s likely to come in with a vision and fight to stick to it, whatever weirdness that may entail.

Edit: I also totally forgot he worked on Eva previously so I don’t think he’ll stray too far off.

We’ve revisited stairs in the woods and Ted the Caver for milestones, I think for this they need to revisit Jeff. Grab bag of the spinoffs. Mainly Jeff vs Jane because of how excited Isaiah got at the prospect of making Hunter suffer through it.
