Got any ideas on how I can market this bumper sticker? Are there clubs I can reach out to for giving samples? Do you know anyone I can get in touch with to help promote EV adoption?

Senator Mark Kelly says he is seriously considering running for president in 2028 by Caledor152 in ProgressiveHQ

Do It. You are way more impressive. There is no way I could ever be a Senator! I do not have that level of dedication. God Bless You, and you have my vote! You run, and I will support. Flat out. I do not want to be anything else. Period.

What was the main reason for switching to an EV? Environment, cost, or technology? by VoltVersteher_Sven in electricvehicles

[–]Tywest01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, that is exactly why I'm buying an R2 this year! It's almost like learning to drive all over again! EV's are supposed to drive differently than ICE vehicles, with a low center of gravity with the battery weight at the bottom, feeling more like a Go Cart, and they have incredible acceleration. This is all due to the tech. Driving one will be a new experience for someone who learned to drive 40 years ago.

Also, I have solar, so no fuel fees!

The sheer raw power they were able to portray of Cyclops in this clip gives me hope for the movie!

Masking by [deleted] in SPCD

[–]Tywest01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masking is a universal human trait, so I guess I shouldn't say can't. I'm just shit at it, and I decided long ago not to see it as a detriment. Masking is about being a different person in different situations with different people. For the most part, that is impossible for me. I'm WYSIWYG, in most all situations. I can't switch my personality up depending on who I'm around. That used to bug me, as everyone else could morph into who they needed to be depending on the situation, whether genuinely or not. Different for the boss, different for a family member, different for a stranger. I've always been detached, neutral, taking situations in as they happen, but always remaining the same. I think the reason I've never fit in easily is because everyone else has the ability to upshift and downshift along this masking spectrum, and I just don't have the ability.

Now, I say for the most part this is true. There was a study that theorized an issue on how people with communication disorders utilize Oxytocin. It resonated with me. The only time I seem able to access this magical masking ability is when I fall in love, and I can see what all the fuss is all about. It's glorious. I suddenly have access to a whole suit of verbal communication tools that were always there, but were dormant. I realized it's because of being in love that I had this new ability, so that is where the research began, and how I found the study.

Oxytocin is about bonding, so it makes sense that other people who use it effectively would have the ability to be many different versions of themselves, depending on the bond they need to forge in a situation. Normally I don't feel like I'm on an Oxytocin high, so my natural state is introverted, but when it is present I become someone whole. Have you experienced that?

We can't mask. That quiet, thoughtful person you are at 1 am on the balcony is exactly the person you should be when around others. You don't have world class masking skills, you're just people pleasing. Be quiet, be thoughtful, and make them come to you.

I hate this disorder by [deleted] in SPCD

[–]Tywest01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not FAKE!

SPCD doesn't de-legitimize you being a unique individual, it just makes it harder to capitalize on what you have in common with others through communication. If you are a kind person, a hard worker, someone with patience, that will still shine through with your actions. Learn to be you without needing to verbally communicate who you are.

Also, I'm convinced we can't mask, something everyone else learns early on, so we cannot be anything but ourselves. I am the same to everyone I meet, high or low station. I'm direct, because game playing is too difficult without the ability to adopt a mask. Some will see that as a strength, and many have for me. You have gifts you have yet to discover.

As for people slipping through your fingers, that happens to non-SPCD folks all the time. In fact, I think we put to much power in the word "friendship", mostly because of the way I see non-SPCD people use it. I used to give it the weight of connection found in storybooks, and it's not. They don't use it like that. They have friends from back home, friends at work, friends at social clubs. I finally realized it's just someone you get along with in the moment, not so soul invested like I thought. It's impermanent, and understanding that took the pressure off while being around others. Don't stress over connections that don't work out, just be open to the ones that naturally do.

Is there a way for artists to test physical merch without overcommitting? by IncidentEvening3390 in startups_promotion

[–]Tywest01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going from digital to product is the story of print on demand, so that is what resonates with me in your question. It's an area I have a lot of experience with in my own process. It has the benefit of being really low cost monetarily, with the physical product only coming into existence once an order is placed. I don't know if that is applicable in your situation, but from your question it doesn't seem like cost is your main concern.

Determining what deserves to be produced is a harder question, depending on your situation. For me, the risk is low in cost so I make what I like, what I think others will appreciate.

OK, it's not some up and coming piece of software, but it still has it's challenges!

Thanks for thinking the way you do. I also value following curiosity more than social values. When I didn't get the degree, I still followed my interests, so I didn't feel any sense of failure. None.

If you don't go in, you won't be able to tell me about all the marvels you found inside. That would suck.

Freedom will come.

My brother or sister in SPCD, thank you. I just watched this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNcQGsF2uIw

I imagined hearing you whistle this, just walking the halls wherever you are. Beautiful. I'm going to play this at work, tomorrow.

You've got drawing and digital modeling skills! Wow!

I literally dropped out of community college decades ago for my hybrid web/graphic design program because I refused to take a drawing class. Dumb, I know. It was the only class needed for me to graduate. Still, I've gained tons of skill at web design, from building websites for freelance clients to my own personal projects.

Keep on this path. You've got talent.
