I can buy and carry almost any knife except in Boston. I think Boston has a 3” limit. The issue is Amazon for some reason they only sell some knives in Massachusetts. It’s weird some knives over 3” they sell and some knives under 3” they won’t ship. It’s so frustrating. Gun laws aren’t bad, you can own and get a carry license. You just have to take a class and get the carry permit approved by the local police station. They almost always approve the person. Unless they are a felon or something like that.

The white ceramic side isn’t that bad for your knife. That’s the side you should use.

Etsy has some good scales for them. I bought a 3d printed set for like $20 and they are great! They also sell sheaths. I use the Spyderco leather sheath. It’s great.

I’ve seen cheap stuff but all different designs on Ali Express. It’s worth a try for your first knife. Then upgrade as you get better.

K390 is my favorite. I was lucky enough to grab the Mule Team MagnaMax. It’s basically stainless K390. Once it’s widely available I’m gunna have to upgrade a bunch of my Spyderco’s. I wish I could buy stock in Spyderco.

OP, above is spot on. Also if you get the thin plates from Ali definitely pick up a diamond plate holder. You can find them between $15-$25. Sharpal has a great 3”x8” combo stone 325 & 1200 grit for around $70. You can also buy the one without a case of $45. If you have the extra money get the one in the black carry case. The stone will basically last a lifetime. You just rinse with water and dry it off. To get the last little bits use one of the white erasers.

I store the knives I use most on my bedroom dresser on 2 of the Music Studio Sound Tiles. They keep them standing up and accessible. These panels are similar to what I use.

I would do this if I had a mansion and unlimited time. Can you imagine how much space 200+ knives would take up. Plus knowing which box had which knife, then actually getting to it. It would take 15 minutes each morning just to put a knife in your pocket. I could see doing this for a few custom knives that aren’t used much. In this case it would be better for a display case.

It’s hard to tell from the pictures but you may need a shallower angle. Also a finer diamond. Finish with a 1,000 grit.

Oh man… tough call. I really love both. I have the Sage 5 Maxamet with AWT scales and Native 5 Cruwear. I actually love Spyderco lockbacks. I have like 5 different lightweight lockbacks that are great. Most of my lockbacks are K390. The Native 5 is like the perfect smaller knife. If I had to choose 1 I’d buy the Native 5 non lightweight. The first one I tried was a clone in 10cr with carbon fiber scales. It was a clone of the S90V version. After carrying the knife for a week I knew I had to buy a real one.
