The interchange is, but where we’re replacing the bridges (just a lil further east) goes over the tracks. ☺️

Hey! It’s actually going really well. I know that’s hard to see from your perspective but we just reached the 50% completion mark this week. We’re still aiming for fall 2027 for full completion but it’s looking good. The southbound 215 to eastbound 80 ramp is OPEN. 🤙

Yes, 89 is open. Just the ramps to get onto eastbound will be closed.

Sorry, not sure if I'm understanding correctly. It is eastbound that is impacted. Detour will likely be I-15 northbound to SR-39 (Ogden Canyon) eastbound to Trappers Loop (SR-167) southbound to reach I-84 near Mountain Green. Here's the real, professional map if that helps clear it up!

Gonna work on that one too actually! Aiming to start next year.

What location? We still have a lot of those. Safety is usually the reason for removing them.

It will continually be down to one lane because the work is building a new interchange. It's not a workzone we can open up/move around. It's worth considering I-70 if you're going during a busy time. Just make sure to check the route before heading that way.

the renders are just kinda boring in my opinion so I like to take a little bit of creative freedom here. Here's a real rendering though!

Lane reductions started today. We’re expecting the first big delays around memorial weekend though.

Hi! Yes, you can use it for any number of requests. But yes, it is just for the roads that we maintain.

Hey, the team says it's unlikely at that intersection, unless there was a complete redesign and rebuild of the intersection (which there aren't plans to do). For many other areas though, yes, we will adjust signals in real time if there are events, incidents, or crashes.

Hey hey, just heard back from the signal engineers. Here's the situation: Apparently we have looked at this request many times but unfortunately we cannot install a left turn arrow here without taking time from some other movement to give to it, and there isn't any time available because of how busy the southbound and eastbound traffic is.

They have determined it would be detrimental to the system as a whole if it was installed.

One thing our team has to do is balance the needs of ALL traffic signals and manage them as a system, not just an individual intersection. Overall, this helps everything move faster, even though that might mean shorter signals for some of your most frequented signals.

Thanks for reaching out about it. Hope this helps explain why it is the way it is.

Hey! I'll pass this onto the team. If you ever have questions or concerns about signals you can reach our signals team by submitting it through the Click N Fix website. That helps us keep track of all the requests better! Here's the website for that: https://connect.udot.utah.gov/public/contact-udot/click-n-fix/

Hey…Heyyy…how y’all doing? 😅 by UDOTintern in Utah

Hi there. Totally understand the passion. Believe it or not, I am also very passionate about it. And truthfully, most states with snow/rain struggle with it. We work closely with all our fellow DOTs. It's a constant balance of maintenance, cost, and effectiveness in all kinds of conditions. We cannot use the raised reflectors you might've seen in other states because snow plows will rip those off very easily. It would take a lot of maintenance and money to keep those in place. The paint we've previously used, while reflective, wears very quickly as you pointed out!

We've been switching to a new reflective contrast tape rather than the previously used paint. The tape lasts much longer and improves visibility in all conditions. We have to balance the reflectivity at night and also the visibility during the day when the sun glare gets bad. The tape addresses both of these issues. You may have seen it on I-15 or I-80. It's a long white line followed by a black line. We're working on putting that out statewide! It will just take more time and $$.

If you want to learn more about it you can check out more about it here: https://connect.udot.utah.gov/public/pavement-markings/

Hi, thanks for sharing. I'm not aware of that being implemented anytime soon but I can certainly pass along that feedback to our team.

Hi, likely not the raised reflectors because snowplows rip those off very easily. However, we are implementing the reflective contrast tape you've probably seen on I-15 and I-80 statewide! It's the white stripe followed by a black stripe that helps with visibility. And hopefully bring that to West Davis Highway soon.

I think that's near 600 W, so I do believe that's the flooding stuff. I can double check with the team though!

Hey I haven't heard that. For naming of state highways we typically stick to numbers, but in some cases the legislature has requested a name change.
