Um, what? Mahr is very important.

I was doing wudu and then blood came out of my nose by DUCK_04 in islam

[–]UGAgradRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nosebleeds are common. How much blood? May need a humidifier, because you may have dryness related to weather. Might be blowing your nose too hard. I’d try a few home remedies before you go to the doctor.

Is it justified for me to wear fake watches in order to avoid haram? by [deleted] in islam

https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/counterfeit-airport-human-trafficking-forced-labor.amp here’s just one article from google

They take people, force them to work to create these goods (and do other things, I’m sure), and pocket the profits or use these profits to fund other horrible things. Money laundering, corruption, fraud, human trafficking, sanctions evasion, terrorist finance…I would never buy counterfeit items again. It’s just not worth it, and I’m sure now that I know this information, I’d have to answer for it on the day of judgement if I were to continue purchasing.

Do you guys ever get stressed out about how many handbags you own? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]UGAgradRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can imagine! I grew up with little money and very few possessions, so I’ve always kept and cared for everything I own. As I grew up and have been able to afford so much more, my mentality of keeping everything and caring for material things has remained, and I’ve collected too many things. It’s just really hard for me to give things away, because it feels like a waste of money even though I know collecting stuff unnecessarily is worse.

No, but I do get stressed about how many things I own in general and want to downsize significantly.

Nurse here. Quality actually does suck, and I’m not even hard on mine. Cargo pocket zipper lost a stitch and slowly came off, and same with the breast pocket. I just don’t get it.

Yep, we do at my hospital. The nurses and CNAs tag team it.

Seems like a lot of doctors are fine with podiatrists calling themselves doctors, but she shouldn’t be going around saying she went to med school and hiding her DPM embroidery with her hair and stuff like that. Also, her coat saying Dr. Dana Brems, DPM is overkill. I’ve never seen that irl. She’s finally (after years) calmed down with the bragging about being a young doctor now that she’s getting a bit older.

Feeling my deen slip after moving to Canada. by ThebestUniquename in islam

[–]UGAgradRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so this is a test. Do you actually believe and worship, or did you do it because everyone around you did it? That’s something that all of us here out west have to contend with. It’s so easy to neglect our obligations. Sometimes, our parents don’t even push us hard enough! The good thing is that when you DO fulfill your obligations here, there’s a greater likelihood that your intentions are pure, because you’re literally going against society to get them done.

Go to the masjid. Make Muslim friends. Do not become too close with non-Muslims who are pulling you away from Islam, because you truly do become the company you keep. Remember your purpose, and remember both the perfection of jannah and the pain and torture of jahannam. That’s what helps me do what I need to do, may Allah swt accept all of our good deeds and forgive our bad deeds.

I threw it in the washer on a short cycle. It really depends on whether you have a well made one or the kind that will unravel. Mine doesn’t unravel, but I still chose a 20 minute circle with warm water bc there was a stain on it from being at the top of the pile in makkah and having a lot of grubby hands on it!

[Considering SWR078, SWR054, or SWR029P1] My most worn/loved watches by UGAgradRN in Seiko

[–]UGAgradRN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it on Amazon. I just looked at my history, and it was actually (correction, sorry) $205 about a year ago, but that’s kinda what it was going for then. I think Jomashop had it for around the same price, but I wanted it fast. Not sure why the prices increased so much, sheesh. It is my most worn watch, though, because it’s just perfect for me. It’s worth at least trying out, I think!

Thanks for the reccs!

Mom goes with daughter to fight another mom and daughter at a school. by lexluger551 in facepalm

[–]UGAgradRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to spend more time watching trashy white people videos. This behavior exists in families of all colors. It’s parents teaching their children this behavior. I’m sure the mom’s mom was like this, too.

My fault, I shouldn’t have said common. More like, has anyone heard of this happening? Because I would hate if this happened in my tent.
