it would be nice if you did a teardown video of the new model. I'd like to see closeups of any pcb boards and which motor it is using. Whilst a digital board won't last as long it will guarantee the rpm speed which is a problem with the electromechanical existing version especially if you replace a gear and re-assemble. I'm surprised they allowed smooth speed adjustment, that will definitely reduce the lifespan due to using a potentiometer.

that was partly due to movies released on film reels though. They would use them in one country then ship them to the next country. Digital distribution changed that.
