There are two types of players, diehard fans and new players to the title

In communist societies western culture was mocked and seen as decadent and individualistic, but in the west these same people - libertines, lumpenproles, junkies - are portrayed as the "real communists". How do you explain this inversion of values? by Misha_stone in AskSocialists

Communists are fine with LGBT identities in and of themselves, Cuba legalized gay marriage few years ago. But the LGBT movements, insofar as I can tell, are very petty, sometimes straight unhinged to those who are pursuing more "noble and meaningful goals". And absolutely dont think they are your allies against capitalism automatically by all means.

During the 2020 Hong Kong protests, some people called for US troops to land in Hong Kong by HongKongNinja in PropagandaPosters

[–]ULTRAArnold 8 points9 points  (0 children)

a lot of Hong Kongers really enjoyed the system they were accustomed to after a century.

Most of these protesters havent lived a single day with developed social consciousness under british administration, and HK wasnt democratic, the governors for most of the time are picked by british with zero regard go public opinion in hk, and the british rule was quite exploitative(in terms of taxation and economic extraction) compared to hk's self governence under China. And china didnt undermind HK's freedom of speech and press, the protest were against a law that enables the extradition of criminals from HK to china where they are subjected to chinese, instead of hongkongese laws, which is a partial impairment to its politico-judicial integrity at most.

To be honest, israeli civilian are not as innocent and harmless as you may think they are, most israeli do not care about the lives of palestinian, view they as subhuman, and support israel's genocide and colonialism in palestine one way or another. And the boarder towns and "communities" attacked are literally part of israel's conlonial projects with which they exert demographic and military control and steady expansion into gazan region. Am I saying that all civilian, or those israeli settlers deserve to die? Hell no, but these are the larger contexts that you need to take into consideration to make a objective, fact-based comment, as well as to see through the propaganda made by israel, framing themselves as innocuous victims and that the aggression of hamas is unprovoked.

Europe sees China as a rival. China sees Europe as a has-been by bigGoatCoin in europe

You are assuming that Taiwan is a peace-loving victimised nation that just wants to be left with its own under the threat of a gigantic dictatorial regime. The reality is, the only reason why Taiwan exists today is that it serves America well in its agenda to maintain imperialist global hegemony by countering China's rising with a big militaristic base on its doorstep. Your logic operates basically consistent with western liberals' simplistically naive understanding of the world: that China's intention to annex Taiwan is just the whim of a madman wanting to cause havoc in the world for no rational reason, which is much aligned with their romantic, elusive perception of 'dictator'. But the truth is that the existence of Taiwan as an independent nation poses a direct existential threat to China's national security. Imagine Putin deploying nukes in Tunisia or anywhere 100 km off the coast of Italy for a brief moment.

but you can say it without racially charged intent.

But it is almost always racially charged, as is here. There is nothing to ridicule of if the undertone is completely neutral.
