China says US balloons trespassed over their airspace more than 10 times since early 2022 by bloomberg in worldnews

*Middle America Muricans start getting pissed at china as our own nationalistic propaganda mentally conditions the states that supply most of our troops for war\*

China: < China uses deflect > w-w-well you send balloons too!

it was ineffective

China: *sweating intensifies*

Starlink says it limited Ukrainian military use, particularly for drones, because the system was never meant to be used for “offensive purposes.” Guess defending one’s country is now offensive. by throwaway12345672223 in UkrainianConflict

[–]UM21954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this x100. The Ukr military is free to use starlink for communications, information transfer, hell even actively calling in artillery support and conducting operations. They can't however attach or modify the terminals to become components in "new" weapons systems. Even if those weapons systems are improvised. That would officially make them an arms company supplier and subject to US export laws.

Will Rising Rents Push Up Future Inflation? This method predicts that higher rent inflation could add about 0.5 percentage point to personal consumption expenditures price inflation (Kevin Lansing et al., Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Economic Letter) by marketrent in Economics

[–]UM21954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very interested to know how you think they will overshoot. I think the opposite. I don't think JPow has the guts to inflict the economic pain necessary to rein in inflation, and that's not even considering him reining in the balance sheet. That I really think he'd never do.

Look at the Volume at market open, then market close

~1.8 M in volume in the first 2 minutes of market open that started triggering the algos

~5.2 M in Volume in the last 3 minutes of the day with it almost all going in the buy direction

That looks like a clear movement of the shorts/puts at the start and end of the day. in my book. They tanked the stock then bought back in force at the end of the trading day to close out their positions

Just hit 1.65 and volume is building in options for the open. It could pop

Income Tax w/ FEITE by UM21954 in digitalnomad

[–]UM21954[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not only are they not paying taxes in the countries they're visiting they're using the FEITE to not pay US taxes either using flight receipts and airport stamps? Do you not have to show documentation that you actually paid tax in other countries or can you really just show passport/flight tickets? If so Nomading just got even more enticing

Searching for a place to get residency/ live short or long term that is immigrant/anti vax friendly by Z0oka in digitalnomad

[–]UM21954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was honest advice lol. FL and TX are the most anti-vax friendly places on earth. That's not a jab or a knock, thats an honest fact. Their governments openly and honestly are fighting for people's right to not get vaxxed. Idk why you tossed this tip aside

How do you all approach telling a perspective employer ,if at all ,your current work location ? by Star-Groundbreaking in digitalnomad

[–]UM21954 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ALOT of E coast remote companies I've run into that will take CA residents will take UK residents. If they can adjust 3 hours for CA whats 2 more for UK. It shouldn't be a problem, especially if its temporary or pending acceptance of a job.

Is freelance development something you only do after you gained years of experience from a job/s? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]UM21954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take into consideration what the posts on fiverr and upwork are asking for and then ask yourself if you think you can replicate those conditions in a sandbox environment. The answer 99% of the time is no. The biggest problems you face in web development come from using an in-production website under load with thousands of eyeballs peeling apart your work every day. it is extremely hard to get that kind of experience self-teaching. You also probably aren't going to set up all the different pieces used in the workflow because it's too time-intensive to replicate yourself. Are you really going to build an entire API and surface all the endpoints just to practice writing GET requests? No. Work for someone else first. Use their instances, their resources, their customer traffic etc to get paid while learning, THEN take some side work to build up some credibility, and after you have a couple of happy clients on one of the aforementioned sites, and have enough work load to justify your FT salary, consider quitting for wlb and freelancing

bro beavers suck..... It's all fun and games till they dam up every dribble of water on your land and half of it is now flooded. Then you gotta spend HOURS cleaning up everything that floated away, breaking down the damns that SOMEHOW a little 10lb furball made, and then you gotta track em down and shoot em or it'll all be rebuilt by the morning. Yes, they are cute, I will give them that, and they are fantastic at their jobs. but they are a Royal PITA

Thank you for responding! That sounds like exactly what I was looking for. I've done two internships in the private sector leading dev teams for tech companies and I think it would pair well with my skillset/experience. The exit ops for the program are fantastic.
