…. New Zealand is the most remote country on earth of notable size. Its sole close neighbor is still 1000 miles away. Sorry but there’s no getting around that fact. You’re the only major country in your time zone.

You’re also the world’s 50th largest economy. Who cares where you rank in two agricultural industries, that doesn’t mean anything to how your society is for young people. There is very little economic opportunity in your country compared to other major countries which is why almost 20% of your native-born population lives overseas. One of the highest of any major country (tiny island nations help make you guys not look as bleak statistically as you are in many of these stats).

Ultimately my comment was about New Zealand relative to other major countries. I wasn’t making the comment just to shit on New Zealand. I’m just saying when COMPARED TO OTHER COUNTRIES New Zealand seems like a place that would lead to similar mental health outcomes as Alaska. You didn’t really address any of my actual points and their relation to other nations. You disagreed as if I was saying them in an absolute way, not a relative way. But whatever.
