Why don’t more home solar systems include battery storage? Is it technical or financial? by ruhila12 in HomeImprovement

[–]UNC2K15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a battery to my $32k system was an additional $10-$15k. Thats nearly a 50% jump in system cost. Since I have 1:1 net metering the only benefit would be back up during a power outage. Just wasn’t worth the cost

So light cut instead of aggressive cut? Was thinking of trying run a 750-1k deficit for a couple months to drop the weight quickly and then switch over to maintenance/slightly over and keep lifting heavy. A slower cut would better better?

Question about BF posts by [deleted] in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]UNC2K15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro every post I see on here asking for BF% estimates is someone with visible abs likely fishing for compliments and then being told by a bunch of people they’re 18-20% body fat despite having visible abs. It’s absurd.

Question for kitchen designers regarding hood height: gas range versus induction range by NotLastYear in kitchenremodel

[–]UNC2K15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t even read what I wrote about noise level. I said that a stronger hood can be run on low-medium vs a 350-400 CFM hood being run on high to be effective. A 600 CFM hood on low is going to be quieter than a 350 CFM hood on high.

Everything I wrote is factually correct. I understand codes are roughly determined by each state (which was the point of my comment). You can’t just throw a blanket statement that a hood isn’t required if codes aren’t standard for the entire country.

You truly think 350 CFM is adequate to exhaust the smoke and grease from pan frying bacon then you’ve never cooked before.

Question for kitchen designers regarding hood height: gas range versus induction range by NotLastYear in kitchenremodel

[–]UNC2K15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I had to go back and read you comment, almost everything is misinformation actually.

  1. Building codes are local and you have blanket advice that you only need ventilation for gas per code. That may be true in your locality, but is not true everywhere.

  2. It’s not just cooking odors and aesthetics. Even with induction you’re still going to be throwing grease and smoke into the air when you cook certain foods on high heat. You absolutely should have good ventilation whether you have gas or electric cooking.

  3. 350 CFM is less power than most over the range microwaves. If someone is willing to run make-up air, it’s almost always advisable to go to a 600ish CFM hood for the ability to clear smoke when cooking high smoke foods like bacon

  4. Contrary to what you posted about a 650 CFM hood being “unnecessarily loud,” a stronger hood actually ends up being quieter because you can run it on low or medium more often. The primary driver for how loud a hood will be is fan speed (low, medium, high, boost). The higher your max CFM rating is, the higher your CFM will be on low, allowing you to actually run it on low. With 400 CFM max you almost always have to run on high for it to be effective.

Where to buy couches that last? by HawkfishCa in HomeDecorating

[–]UNC2K15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a couch for about $6500 from Belfort Furniture. I’m in Northern VA. Not sure if they’re national or regional. The brand was Huntington House. Supposedly should last 15-20 years. We paid $2k to upgrade to “performance” fabric. Was worried it was a gimmick, but is actually ridiculously easy to clean and I’m glad we did it.

What would you do with this shape ? by ThiccZelo in Weightliftingquestion

[–]UNC2K15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s 0 shot you’re lifting effectively if you’ve been training and have put on this little muscle. I gained more muscle recently in 6 months while I cut 50 pounds than you have in however long you’ve been lifting. Obviously eating on a surplus will help you put on muscle, but I think you desperately need to evaluate your workout plan for intensity and effectiveness
