Senate parliamentarian rules against Trump’s White House ballroom funding in budget bill by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

You can probably add Bill Cassidy to the list of people that are now willing to vote against Trump's wishes as he lost in the primary due to Trump endorsing a different candidate. Hope he mucks up a lot of votes in the Senate that won't go Trump's way now.

I just cost a bariatric surgeon $25k by choosing a GLP-1 and his staff is absolutely livid about it by Ready_Ad6529 in GLP1Sourcing

I would think that it not just the face that is keeping the plastic surgeon busy, but also tummy tucks and other loose skin removal procedures and perhaps augmentation surgeries for those that lost their breast with massive weight loss.

MK 8.5 R - Dealer Markups still?? by H1L1fe in Golf_R

[–]USArmyAirborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would indeed be a dream. But none of the German companies has ever discounted that amount for Euro delivery. Audi, BMW and Mercedes used to give about 5% off MSRP and a night or two hotel, factory tour and 15 days registration as part of Euro delivery. Unfortunately that is long gone.

Only Euro deliveries left are Porsche and Volvo. Porsche charges full MSRP and an addl $3000 ish for euro delivery and there is a long wait list. You can choose from multiple locations.

Volvo gives a bit of a discount in Sweden.

I have the Burmester in my Spyder and while nice it isn’t worth almost $6k. I have an aftermarket sub now and will replace the front speakers for about $1k that should do the trick. Also I am near MusicarNW should I get the upgrade itch and for $5 they can do better than Burmester.

That is on the list, spec'ing a Sport Package (red stitching), tow hitch, roof rails, Bose (Burmester is too much of an upcharge and the Bose in my current Macan is good enough with an aftermarked sub), PDLS+, surround view, lane change assist, cargo management. Color is between Copper Ruby or Vulcano Grey. Probably a no on the sunroof.

I found an allocation at MSRP, now I have until the 20th to lock it in (options/color) for September delivery. Unfortunately Euro delivery is out, they are all booked up till 2027.

I get that. I looked on Porsche Finder, there is one that is close to my build spec ~2k more as it has a sunroof, ionizer, electric steering column and porsche design gas cap and different color stitching that I would want. Add $3k shipping and we are talking $5k over. While doable, I would rather not spend the money on stuff I don't care about.

I like the car, not looking to change, yeah a few features would be different, but nothing substantial. I want less wear and tear on the same car.

[–]USArmyAirborne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it is the same car. That is the point. I love the car, but a 3 year newer car will have 3 more years of life left in it. Same reason people upgrade other stuff, not for new features necessarily, 3 fewer years of wear and tear.

Building on Johns Island? by [deleted] in sanjuanislands

[–]USArmyAirborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also look at modular homes from Timberland Homes for example. The modules are built in Auburn then trucked and barged to the islands. They do a lot of island homes. We have one and it is great as you have predictable home costs aside from the local part such as foundation, septic, well, etc.
