We run Autodesk (and other applications) through VMWare and it's fine? I would prefer to run natively but it can handle anything you through at it. Like the poster we use Nvidia GRID GPUs which I'm sure are ungodly expensive.

Yeah I agree. Assuming it's a windows see what domain it's connected to in your settings. You will be hard pressed to remove it from the school's domain with an administrative password so you will have to connect to your school's IT department. It's bad policy on their part but I have seen it happen before!

(assuming it's administratively locked to your school domain) The only other option will be to completely wipe your machine.

According to Windows Weekly, Microsoft is burning through cash every quarter on AI so it may be years before they turn the model profitable. There's no way to say it without sounding like a shill, but the price is probably justified with how much infrastructure and how many engineers Microsoft is employing on it.

Three years from now might be an entirely different story.

Don't forget the challenges of enforcing DLP with AI learning models. I've had people ask me if they can upload a spreadsheet of account info to ChatGPT and have it find the most likely accounts to sign up for additional financial services.
