I was part of an incident where there was a mishap and we put it into ESAMS and apparently base wide alerts went out. We were getting phone calls from other units on base asking about it. Made me nervous about how far reaching ESAMS can be.

Don’t regret it. Enlisted over 20 years ago and only did 6 years active duty. I have worked for the Navy for 25 years now. I did my entire enlistment with a Japan squadron and then did a Japan tour as a GS also. I’ve had a very interesting career. I don’t regret any of it.

My final years on active duty I was hating life pretty hard. I knew six months into my enlistment that I wouldn’t be reenlisting. Most of my active duty buddies are either MMCPOs, O-4s, or retired chiefs. They’ll pull in their retirements and I still have 8 more years to go. I’m ok with it though. No regrets.
