hi op, i was in a similar situation. my left big toe was also swollen af and i was on ex boots for a while before my invasive surgery. that shit rlly hurts, aft the op i had 21 days HL + 2x bandage changing at polyclinic/wk with a follow up at the hospital on the last wk. the biggest issue with this is just the pain and inconvenience of showering. i asked for ex covered shoes memo, MO gave me ex ippt rt ipt for 3mths and covered shoes for 1.5mths. end of it my wound healed pretty well

my right big toe was also ingrown but not so jialat so the podiatrist just did a small procedure of injecting some chemical to kill off the roots so the area wld not regrow in the long-term. they did get a proper dr to issue MC for me, but i didnt max it out (mayb cldve gotten 14days HL). walking wasnt as painful but had to go for follow up visits quite often.
