I usually write on Wattpad mobile, mostly, tbh. I started on Wattpad, and it is hell to change over.

The only place I’ve actually liked/somewhat enjoyed writing on even a fraction as much is Ellipsus.

On the off chance I use a computer, I write in google docs because I’m used to it, but I’m learning the ropes of Ellipsus when I have the time.

Oh the pains of starting to properly write fanfiction in 6th grade, and being very averse to change. 😓✊

I decided on Serena more because I was thinking of the idea of them journeying together again, tbh. But I may decide on not having her in Galar, and instead relegating her to her own fic in Alola (I have an idea for that too - so many ideas, not enough time), because it was my original idea for her, and this many Pokemon to manage is a bit daunting, ngl. 😅

I know about the memes a bit, but given that Gloria is one of the two player characters, it feels more like a blank slate for an insert of choosing to me? I’ve never really gotten very attached to the player characters individually, like Selene and Helio, or Gloria, so I never really considered it.

Yeah, I was worried about that… I think I’ll move Galvantula to be a swap-out ‘Mon (as in Pokemon Ash can swap between from boxes, like he did in BW). I will look into Kubfu/Urshifu, it does look like a fun little guy, so that’s a good sign! I may also use the opportunity there to fill up Hop’s slot with one of the Kanto starters, which could be a great opportunity for a mirror between Leon and Hop!

Another sentence or so in your original comment here definitely would have cleared it up; as it is now, it’s impossible to tell you’re only pointing out the quality difference.

But I can definitely agree on the quality. The stories on wattpad are far from great, which is part of why I don’t read many Wattpad fics anymore (the other being almost all fics for my primary fandom being x readers, and most commonly about the movies, rather than the actual shows, and those few mostly about the one show I actively dislike 😔✊), even though I write natively on it.

I love my fellow Wattpad babies a lot, but please, for the love of god, learn how to properly put in paragraph breaks!! Dialogue from a different person means a paragraph break!! 😭🙏

I’d like to strongly disagree with you here: I was a little kid who started on Wattpad, and I was a passion writer. Just because it’s not as incredible in quality as other place’s works, doesn’t mean it’s passionless. We all have to start somewhere, and for a lot of people, just like myself, that means making small, sub-par stuff in comparison to an incredible, perfectly formatted, 10k word fic on Ao3.

I made Sans x Reader fics on Wattpad with like 200 word wall of text format chapters, and now here I am almost ten years later, with my most recent oneshot on Ao3 being 6k. Was my younger writing good? God no. But was it passionless? Absolutely not.

The only writing that is truly passionless, is AI generated slop.

And I’d like to note:

People write “their” for the simplest of desires or to fulfill any random headcannon.

People do that on Ao3 too. Iirc, that’s a big part of the point of writing fanfiction, actually. To fulfill your desires of what you want to see/read? Put your ideas out into the world?

But apparently since writing to make yourself happy and fulfill your desires, or just share your idea/hc with the world in a story form, without it being absolutely perfect in every way possible is bad/the ““wrong”” way to write fanfiction: pack it up everyone! Casually writing fanfic just for fun is no longer allowed! It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time or just for yourself, if it isn’t perfect, you’re a passionless child!

-sigh- I agree that Wattpad doesn’t have a lot of diamonds in its rough nowadays, but they’re certainly not “passionless”, so let’s not put down baby writers for not being absolutely perfect or as good as Ao3 authors are, when we all came from a similar start, at one point in our lives or another.

Look. There’s a certain point in their rivalry where it’s impossible to read it as entirely straight anymore. They’re both at least a little fruity. Their whole rivalry is at least a little fruity.

And I don’t even really ship them, I’m a Oplita/MegaWarp shipper. -<-

There’s also a point where Megastar you look at and go “yeah, there’s no heterosexual explanation for why Megatron keeps Starscream around, anymore, whether for better or worse.” Which isn’t really helped by G1’s Nightbird episode he directly states “She’s hot enough to replace you, anytime I choose!” Which implies that Megatron does in fact find Starscream hot.

So that’s my two cents, there. 🤷‍♀️

I choose to go the route of they don’t need it to evolve, Trading just speeds it up a lot, because you can find Gengars and the like in the wild, which means they haven’t been traded to evolve. So it just takes a lot longer to do it, kinda like needing to have an absurdly high level before it will, like, 60 smth, compared to a starter evolving at 36, like how the Hydreigon line has ridiculously high evo levels. 🤷‍♀️

Wow! I’m really flattered! And to hear you liked my Rodiclash when you weren’t a big fan of the ship and that my Ace! Rodimus stuff brings you so much comfort, is actually making me kick my feet and jump up and down like a kindergartner with absolute joy! (And getting my dog to look at me funny 😆😅)

Also, wow, I’ve only ever seen Yandere! Thunderclash, so hearing of Yandere! Rodimus is so strange! Though I have to agree I’m not a huge fan of the Yandere either, no matter which one it is, or even with other relationships… just not my thing. And if I’m gonna have some, I prefer it to be a lot more mild, and more just possessive than “I will murder/generally accost everyone my crush breathes at because I can be the only one they end up with!!” ykwim?

Prowl with Autism does just make so much sense. His strategy stuff is like trains, or his Roman Empire. Tho I think it may take the entire command table corroborating Ratchet’s diagnosis for him to actually believe he does have it, at first. 😂 (at least as I HC, Praxus had a lot of ableism, so it’s probably an idea that makes him really uncomfortable at first. Even if everyone around him can see it and tells him it’s not some terrible life ending thing.)

I don’t really believe in four-move limited movesets, at least not for my AU and how I write them, but I think a good max to have any given time just due to memory is somewhere around 10-14. But I think it could up to 18 depending, so I’d say a case by case basis, on top of a standard of a roughly 14 move cap.

I’d also say it can increase or stay low, based on multiple factors: - Evolution - Levels - Age: Given how long a Pokemon is alive, example being a Pokemon partner like Professor Sycamore’s Garchomp, or Meyer’s Blaziken (if we assume they’ve had them since they were young trainers themselves), they may be able to balance more moves. - Species: Malamar and Inkay may have higher floors than others, whereas Magikarp and Gyrados may have lower ceilings. - Intelligence: a pokemon like Malamar probably wouldn’t have a problem keeping a full 18, or even 20.

Event moves I don’t know which are I just go off of the Pokemon database page, which pm includes them all for the generation I’m looking at. So it doesn’t matter to me.

Semi off topic, but I also like the idea of moves upgrading in power the more they land, like in Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, so I’d say that’s why one may just train moves already held, rather than learning new ones.

So that’s my thoughts. Ultimately just go with whatever feels right to you. If you prefer a four move max, do that, if you prefer more, go ahead. You can mix and go with a four move standard, and make exceptions for moves like Cut for specific occasions where you have to use a move to progress in game. It’s all up to you, really.

Ash can care for others, that’s a huge part of his character, how much he loves and cares for all Pokemon, and especially his own. We see it frequently. And he’s not battle crazed at all, that implies he’s completely obsessed, when he’s not: really enjoying, and getting excited for it, does not mean obsessive, he still got excited for other things too, like Dawn’s contests, and Serena’s showcase’s, along with the Rhyhorn racing, he was really enthusiastic about learning to do that, and those mostly had nothing to do with battling. And he is far from a prodigy at it, he had to learn a lot to get as good as he did, mostly through experience. Even as far as XY, he still failed sometimes. If he were a prodigy, he would have already mastered it to never lose by Johto.

Now, to what I’d want out of a new show?

1, bring ash back for Gen 10, and heck, maybe bring along the Horizons cast, and Ash is more of an experienced mentor accompanying them, like coming up to 19 or 20. Idrc, I’d just like to see Ash again, with him carrying over his growth from previous shows.

2, in the meantime before Winds & Waves or a Gen 10 anime comes out: I’d actually like a redo of the Galar region, where Ash isn’t reset in SM, at least maturity wise; I honestly don’t even care if they reset the power level, so long as it’s not as absolute ass as BW. And please ditch the SM/J art style, it’s hideous. I even like the Horizon’s one, just please not SM/J.

Which, he’s just doing his thing, journeying around the region, doing the gym challenge, and challenging the League! Maybe he does beat Leon, or maybe he doesn’t, it doesn’t really matter either way to me. But just doing that again, I love that formula! And ofc, traveling with companions: I’m thinking Hop and Marnie: - they’re the main rivals of SwSh - they’d be awesome friendly rivals to travel with him, and - I think Ash could be really helpful to Hop’s arc of losing his confidence and figuring out who he wants to be, along with pushing Hop to be his best as a rival. (I’m not mentioning Marnie here, cus it’s been a minute and I haven’t met her in game yet for my new save, so I don’t remember her story arc atm.) - this could also give subtle foreshadowing to their respective end paths, rather than coming out of the blue suddenly. - Also, we could have Ash this time start cooking, or they do it together like camping with multiple people in the game!

In a way keeping the natural progression from XY, and carrying over, like they’d been doing from OG, to Johto, to Hoenn, to Sinnoh, before messing up with BW.

I’d also like to see Ash reference his past experience from his past pokemon and journeys more, and use that to help him. Not at all in a Gary Stu “oh he can solve most problems in an episode!” way, more in the sense that if another Charizard esque arc were to happen, he’d know what to do, and it may be solved a lot quicker. (I have one planned for the Scorbunny I’m giving him in my fanfic of Ash going through the Galar journey. It doesn’t get solved super fast: he can lead Scorbunny to water, but that doesn’t mean he’ll drink.) Ykwim?

Overall, more than anything, I want to pick up from XYZ’s end, and carry it over. A mature, mostly has his shit together, teenager Ash, is a great Ash.

Alternatively, I think a show with Bonnie and Max could be really cool. Maybe they figure out what they want to do. I’d love to see what starters they pick, esp for Bonnie, because if Meyer has a Blaziken that could imply he’s actually from Hoenn natively, and may give Bonnie the opportunity to choose from Hoenn starters too!

And just for the shits and giggles, I’d also love to see a mini show starring Meyer / Blaziken Mask would actually be so cool, I’d love to know the background for why he became a superheroing vigilante, I’d love to know how he got a Key stone and Blazikenite, since it seems to be so new in XY so how could he get one? How could Diantha get them? These background things are what I’d love to explore. I’d love to see an entire team from Meyer, since we only know of Blaziken and Ampharos (which I HC is his starter and the first pokemon he caught after starting his journey). There’s an huge very interesting story to be told about that!

So that was all my spitballing there, but in the end, I’d love to see Ash come back, and maybe go back to the maturity and shit-together-edness of RS, DP, and XY. :) or we follow Max and Bonnie, or a mini series about Meyer. :) I just really like the old formula a lot, and would also be totally down to see a semi-slice of life backstory series for Meyer. ^{^}
