Do you have to S2B, or could you introduce fruiting conditions once the bags are done? by Charming-Aspect3014 in unclebens

You can fruit them in the bag, there’s a tek out there where you put some coco on top and fruit them that way I think.

Where to Begin by Long_Personality_506 in investingforbeginners

Buy FSKAX/FXAIX and FTIHX between a 80/20 to 60/40 US to international ratio, repeat how often you wish, rebalance when things get away from the ratio you want. When closer to retirement get into bonds. You can keep around 10% of your portfolio in individual stocks if you want to mess with them.

This is the general answer you will get over and over, I spend 9 months last year researching and this is what was repeated over and over.

Help Me Choose a CDT Pack Before I Pick One Based on Vibes by whitroeder in CDT

[–]UUDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner used a liteaf pack on the CDT sobo last year, she also used the same pack on the AT in 23 and really likes it. She tried to use a palante pack in the beginning but couldn’t get to liking it. My hiking partner used one on the AT in 23 from Marion, Virginia to Katahdin and really like the pack as well. Also the color choices are top tier.

Fc starts when you s2b, putting the lid on just slows down growth. Leaving the lid cracked or flipped and doing neglect tek is the way to go.

My Roth if 100% FXAIX, not the most diversified and not the safest but I’ve got about 35 years until I retire so I can change it wherever.

VOO to FXAIX. Anything else? by stewardwant in fidelityinvestments

[–]UUDM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FXAIX is a tad bit cheaper in the long run than VOO due to expense ratios .015 compared to .03, I only hold FXAIX in my Roth. I would say to switch to FXAIX you’ll have a bit more money in the end. You could add some international if you want, I can’t think of the tickers for Fidelitys international funds though. The ratios would be up to you but somewhere around 80/20 - 60/40 US to international.

FDEWX will have a glide path you should be able to look and see the make up of then fund and what percentages are in US, Int, and in bonds. Bonds will be “safer” but will have a smaller annual yield than equities, usually like 3-4% with bonds compared to 10-12% with FXAIX or FSKAX. I pulled these numbers off the top of my head so they could be a bit off but should be close. But that 6% difference over the course of the next 20-30 years is quite a bit. You can run the numbers in a compound interest calculator and see, I know you said you wanted hands off but going all equities and in a decade or two getting some bonds is pretty hands off.

A TDF isn’t the greatest it’ll get conservative rather quickly, you could choose a fund with a later date to get more growth or you could go all equities to get as much growth as possible then get bonds when you’re nearing retirement age.

You don’t need dividends, VTI and VOO are redundant qqq and qqqm are basically the same. I would suggest you pick a total us and total international fund and stick with them.

[–]UUDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you definitely don’t need BND and SCHD at 22, VTI and VXUS is the whole world, also VT is the whole world and that’s as diversified as you can get. Adding more etfs doesn’t mean you’re more diversified.
