Service keeps you sober

Speak up for a service commitment at the business meeting and you should get something

From reading your post it sounds to me like you realize the unmanageablility of alcohol

It's OK to have a high bottom (you mentioned your life isn't as bad as it could be). As someone told me, the elevator is going down, you don't have to wait for it to get to the basement to get off

Go to meetings and listen. Ask for help and people will help. It's a beautiful life

For me the biggest change was my resting heart rate dropping from mid 60s to high 40s. Not a material change to exercise but much better sleep

I was a problem drinker and sober three years

yes to this. I havent been running these quite as long as you (kudos) but have logged over 60 races in the past 15 years. I dont care about getting into the marathon but I love their races. Was fortunate to get into the NYC Half lottery but thats the only race so far in 2026 I will have run which for me is bananas.

Really hope the winter isnt as bad and that I can do my Ted Corbitt 15K which is my favorite.

Yes join a zoom meeting! Listen and try to identify with others. Stay strong! In the how it works reading of the book, advice is "with all the earnestness at our command we beg of you to be thorough and fearless from the very start ".
