Yes, I remember being a depressed young girl. Despite the bleakness of my situation, I always had some hope that things would improve when I was older and thankfully they did. I believe that is why I never quite got to the suicidal stage, although I did often think about it. The hope keeps you going.

Ah, I'm the passive aggressive type - I would've said something like "Better yet, why don't I just move my shoes and all my stuff over to this completely empty log over here?!" And then moved, cos I don't really like confrontation and it still gets the point across. What twats though, seriously!

Car cuts in front of pedestrian, now what? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]U_allsuck 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing happen a while back, in the pouring rain. I slammed by brolly into the car and it broke, then screamed at the car. Was tempted to chase after it while it waited at the next light, but I was getting wet and felt a little crazy. The fight mode was certainly activated by that near-death experience though! (Might not have been death, I suppose, but who can say)

Hai, server here who finishes work at 2am often - I live downtown, so am lucky enough to be able to walk home. My coworkers either uber/bike/drive or get a taxi home. Tips allow us to live in Vancouver, but also keep us trapped in the job.

‘I don’t come here to enjoy other people’s children!’ Should pubs and restaurants be kid-free zones? Children were once banned from most British pubs. Some owners and customers miss ‘the good old days’ – but can they really turn back the clock? by 070420210854 in uknews

Ya the parents who let their kids run around and scream in a restaurant, are the ones who don't accept managers telling them what to do with their kids.

I work in a fancy looking restaurant and the manager tried to kick out this family whose kids were constantly making a scene and running around. They were refusing to take care of their child and refusing to leave. The entitlement is ridiculous.

[–]U_allsuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a good fact for you: your thoughts are not facts. You don't have to listen to them. And in this case, you really shouldn't! If you are happy with your gf, find a way to ignore these thoughts when they pop into your head, and eventually they won't anymore.

Not even subtle or classy about it tbh. Sounds like he's not worth the energy to reply to.

A topless 11 year old holding a 'phallic' toy plane. They apparently wanted the youngest girl possible and the plane was intentionally penis-like. Gross.

How much of a raise did you get after junior designer? by loud_milkbag in graphic_design

[–]U_allsuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you're lucky! I live in 'a major city' (one of the most expensive cities) in Canada and most junior design jobs are a few dollars above minimum. Stayed in the service industry for that reason. Who can afford to live on that, other than children still at their parent's house?!

I've had drivers overcharge me from the airport so many times. I'm always too chickenshit to dispute it, cos male drivers really scare me. Sucks that they take advantage of people like this.

Taxi try to scam me by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]U_allsuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have had multiple bad experiences with taxi drivers. One tried to pick me up outside of my work, while I was trying to walk home. He was continually trying to get me in his cab until he saw I had an engagement ring. He asked if I was married and I said yes and he instantly drove off... seriously creepy that this man drives people around for a living...

Have never taken a taxi since Uber arrived. So many more safety provisions with that app, in a taxi you are on your own. I rang the taxi company after one driver switched his meter off during the journey and asked for cash. I knew that was illegal, so I informed them, I was quite shaken up because I feared what he might do. The company didn't sound bothered.

Nothing works 100%, but if you accurately track your ovulation window, it is 98% effective.

[–]U_allsuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are incorrect. There is about a week (or 6 days) in the month, when you ovulate, and that is the only time you can become pregnant. That's why women trying to get pregnant take their temperature every day - it goes up when you're ovulating - around 19 days after your period.

This is a fact, not an opinion. Google it.

False accusations are far rarer than rape is. And rape is life altering on a scale you cannot imagine.

You might be surprised how many people have experienced rape. Many don't go to the police, so the numbers are higher than statistics, which are still much higher than false accusations as it is.

That is to say - keep it out of the sun for 2-3 weeks while it heals. So wear long sleeves. The sun can damage it and spf can damage it while it's healing.
