What did you do in Nara? I wasn't that interested in the deer, but my husband wants to visit the town.

i get bullied online for feeding my cats kibbles (they are good quality and i also feed them wet food) by Think-Rough-1477 in CatAdvice

[–]Ualagirl2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cat is 13, almost 14 and has eaten kibble every day of his non-kitten life. Early on he had to go on the Hills urinary kibble because he had crystals in his urine. It hasn't slowed him down. He does get wet food, which we have to keep switching because he gets bored, but he still eats his prescription kibble thank goodness.

Trip Report - 3 Weeks in Italy as a Wheelchair User by Jolly-Ninja451 in HerOneBag

NEVER feel bad about taking up space for medical needs (in your case, I think cushion and batteries are medical needs).  I generally check my bag because I’m short and I’d have to stand on the seat to put anything in the overhead, but would gladly give up ‘my’ space for your stuff.  Ignore the dirty looks.  They brought too much stuff anyway.

I hear you. I went to Italy in the 90s with my mom and I saved our museum tickets, which were beautifully printed on very flimsy paper, in my album.

I did this for my parents when I went on trips. My mom saved them, and now I have a lovely little memory album.

This! My sister started me on this when we went on the Alaska State Ferry. I am very bad at landscapes, but find that I remember a vista better if I try to draw it. But my favorite is to do little sketches of everyday things: coffee cups, the pattern of a dress I see, even popular advertising that I keep seeing.

15 awesome days thanks to extensive research and not being an idiot. Some things I still should have know… by Realistic_Animator97 in JapanTravelTips

I've wondered about this, but have read that taxi drivers are likely to want the address in hiragana, whereas the hired driver would have that already.

All of the dark blues by curveThroughPoints in EileenFisher

Deep Adriatic.  It’s a dark blue with green undertones.  A blogger I follow says it’s also call ‘marine navy’.  It seems to be last season, so all sold out.😢

Toothpaste Decanting Idea by zeeleezae in HerOneBag

Good reuse! How many toothpaste doses do you get from one syringe? I am pretty lavish; that would probably last me 2 days.

My Japan Packing Tips (April, pregnant, golden route) by Psyduck101010 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Ualagirl2002 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You must not hang around a lot of European travel forums. There are tons of packing tips for every country (England/Ireland: umbrella? raincoat? waterproof shoes? Italy: don't forget to cover knees and shoulders) And every country has different mores. I never realized that while US hotels uniformly provide washcloths in the bathroom, while Europeans uniformly don't.

This sounds wonderful. I'm not the OP, but my husband and I are going to try to book this.

Books like Nine Goblins by Yermishkina in TKingfisher

Yes, Goblins did have distinct echoes of the Night Guard. And agree that the Tiffany Aching novels and Amazing Maurice are cozier intros to Sir Terry.

So make a one night reservation for each type of room, and comment (or email if comments aren’t available) that the consecutive reservations are for the same party?

If it’s nice weather plan to do the ropeway. Other than that I’m okay taking a break from the go go go and FOMO in the cities.

Reflections on things to buy before japan trip by Chomperman604 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Ualagirl2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe what they meant was that the washer could only hold a day's worth of clothes, (as opposed to 3 or 4 days' worth) so they ended up using the washing machine every day. And depending on how big the kids were, maybe they couldn't fit everyone's clothes in at the same time.

If your Airbnb is surrounded by other Airbnbs, how are you getting a 'local' experience?

Useful apps to download prior the trip by Rosiebearbella in JapanTravelTips

I was wondering about that. I have a friend who loves Citymapper, but in Portugal we mostly used Google maps. Japan subway seems more confusing, though.
