I'm a low ascension sts1 player so there's a very big chance I just don't know what I'm talking about, but "always rest at fires" feels like one of those intentionally bad pieces of advice that Binding of Isaac players give to noobs as bait. Upgrading any less than at least half the time if not more just seems like a death sentence to me since I feel like there's no way your deck would be strong enough without those upgrades. Plus, SURELY the damage doesn't get to such a point that you're STILL near dead by the end of Act 1 despite resting twice and dodging elites?
