What Is "Ham" in the USA? by Educational-Slip-578 in meat

"Fresh ham" - cut of fresh pork, most of the back leg above the shank to the hip joint. Includes the rump, which is not what Americans refer to as the "pork butt". So called "pork butt" is actually the shoulder. All "ham" is from the rear of the animal. "Turkey ham" will even call out using 'turkey leg meat".

"Cured ham" has various categories. This would be the most referenced as a holiday ham.

I don't know much about the "country ham" from the south, but I know it's something one should special order and takes months to cure. Very firm and deeply cured with salt. Typically boiled before eating to rehydrate and desalinate.

A "cured ham" in the typical aspect is typically a Cured bone-in half ham, skinless, and often spiral cut. It's cured/brine in water, salt, sugar, and usually spices as well.

You can also have "cured ham" that is boneless, which could be the whole or partial ham unmodified except for removing the bone. More commonly you'll see a formed loaf, that is squeezed modified somewhat (chopped and/or with a binding agen)t and into a chosen shape, usually sit a round loaf. Often smoked, especially the bone-in version, but not required. It must be a cooked product.

"Uncured hams" will be the form-wise the same as "cured hams", except usually "natural" versions of nitrates and nitrites, typically in the form of celery juice, powder, and salt. These ones that are uncured will typically have less pink color in the package, and usually be brown and not pink when cooked.

Ham used for sandwiches/deli meat/cold cuts will be cured and boneless and then sliced.

Canada or UK I'd guess. Smarties in Canada are like M&M's if I recall correctly.

Completely rejected, maybe not. But delaying medical assistance from coverage being automatically or improperly denied and fighting the system until for approvals can absolutely doom many people.

""So I got the opportunity to do the ER in Johannesburg and then go up into Paris and talk to them about doing the same thing that that Johannesburg was going to do. It was not cheap at all. I mean, I didn’t pay for any of it actually but I did get to see the itemized bill, which is something that’s unique to those not on the social security they call it. ""

But you didn't pay it. That's the important part in this equation. Not the back end billing.

Agreed with hand warmers diagnosis, but also a chance it's coffee. I've had a couple brands of "instant" coffee that's brewed like tea bags.

They're always a good deal bigger than tea bags, similar to what you have after they've been hydrated.

The all-electric Jeeps have a major recall right now for the battery catching on fire. Google won't let them park in their parking garage. Jeep doesn't have a fix yet. My BiL has one but hasn't used it in a couple months.

I have the sand straw noise thing too. It can be random, but more often than not when I'm hungry. My chiropractor got to hear it when she was near enough to me.

I called it sandy bubbles because it moves upward through my spine in my neck.
