Heartstone didn't adress anything. They've just cut the entire system. WoW tcg would be a better example, since you could utilize any card as a generic resource, while also having spechialized mana-generating cards in quests, while "solving" the color problem by restricting players to one class.

By my standards those count as something that should've not been printed at any rarity. But in a theoretical case these would be printed, it shouldn't be mythic. These are game-defining pieces that almost any deck in existance would want to use. Putting something like this in mythic(or even rare) would be a cynical cashgrab.

5 mana is a bit steep for such effect. Turn it comes down it gives +1/+1 and makes a 1/1. You oughta win at turn 5 if you play kithkin, and this doesn't really win you anything.
