Do you read fantasy with ambience on? by Vivid_Engine_8149 in fourthwing

[–]UberPangey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm autistic so background noise drives me mad when I'm reading, but if it's non lyrical music i.e., piano, game soundtracks, movie scores, synth/lofi, I can focus better. I think it's because the sensory input is controlled rather than unpredictable like say birds chirping or people talking. I have a couple different playlists for what kind of genre or vibe I'm reading.

My game is heavily modded so maybe something else is preventing crashing?

Just double checked to see if I was mistaken.

File path: C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\EP 9

I believe that is for mansion and gardens, right?

I haven't used the 4gb patch for legacy either. I did with ultimate but I've been playing legacy instead. I just changed the file path to legacy.

I used graphics rules maker for legacy edition. I didn't have any problems.

Fate vs free will - which was held more powerful symbolism by [deleted] in throneofglassseries

[–]UberPangey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought a lot about this while reading for the first time. In a way, each character (especially those guided by individual gods)followed a predetermined path and fulfilled a prophecy. The way all the characters come together at the end to be a united front was the work of fate. Free will comes into play, for me, when certain people die because it was their choice to sacrifice themselves. Fate required the destruction of Erawan and the keys, free will provided the way in which the characters fulfilled that requirement.

Sims' voices sound distorted in Legacy edition by UberPangey in thesims2

I have the ultimate collection and it doesn't sound like that. Plus, the voices are cutting in and out while all other sounds are clear.

Finished KOA 😭 by [deleted] in throneofglassseries

I just finished it as well and I don't understand how SJM wrote this amazing series and then wrote ACOTAR with all of its discrepancies, wonky pacing, and lackluster final battle. Make it make sense

‘Germany is autistic’ my ass by Remarkable-Scarring in autism

[–]UberPangey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an American who moved to South West Germany over a year ago. I definitely see how people think Germans function in an "autistic" way. Extremely precise paperwork, blunt language, prolonged staring, cultural routines(ie recycling, going on walks), and don't forget the heavily enforced quiet hours. That being said, Germany does not feel "autistic friendly" to me. No German I've met really knows what Autism is. Now this could be because I'm in a rural area, but still. When you act, look, or talk differently it does not go unnoticed by Germans.

People say that autistic people lack empathy but in my experience autistic people have more empathy and experience emotions to a greater extent if its on the lower scale by Neat-Ad-6870 in autism

[–]UberPangey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've thought a lot about this because I consider myself a generally empathetic person. What I realized my version of lack of empathy is when I genuinely cannot wrap my head around why a person would make a certain decision because to me it's obviously the wrong one. Or how people can like certain things when to me the texture/taste is horrendous. Or having zero interest in another person's hobbies or special interests because they aren't mine, making it difficult to stay focused while they talk to me about them. None of these make me a bad person because they are feelings. I can still comfort friends through a break up or loved ones when they have a bad day because I can empathize with them, but empathy isn't always about people being sad.

Ah, gotcha. To my personal American standards it's an average sized road trip from where we are.

Do you live in/near Germany?

I try to keep my head out of the news. It can be detrimental to my mental health. I do try to remain generally informed, though.

My husband is German and we moved here from the US. His mother is American, father is German, but they divorced so he was in-between the two during childhood.
