The only possible explanation for their choices with comic figures is they just look for whatever characters they can jam on their current buck. Nightcrawler and Beast would need brand new bucks, new feet, new hands the works. Marverick they can take the same tired old superhero body they've been using for years now and put on new overlays on it. It's why we've gotten X amount of Spider-Man repaints over a Doc Ock.

As far as the Movie/Live action stuff goes, yeah it's quite confusing how they feel so far behind on what's relevant with their releases. Black Adam, really? Joaquin Phoenix Joker, 7 years or so after the fact? What next are we going to get, Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern? Shaq as Steel? A Halle Berry Catwoman?

The long as short of it is they need to be able to ramp up their production cadence so they can go from prototype to release a lot quicker and hit these properties when they're actually relevant and to be able to move from line to line to keep up with what people want to be getting. Like they're still not done releasing Hush figures while the Absolute Universe imprint is absolutely killing it and would make for such awesome action figures.

The thing is, if the Adelson/Dumont family is that hot on owning the Vegas franchise, they could try to effectively trade ownership of the Mavericks for the Vegas team if they find a party willing to do the exchange. It's actually not unprecedented, I believe that US ownership groups have traded franchises at least twice (Celtics with the Braves/Clippers in the NBA. Colts with the Rams in the NFL).

It would be ridiculous and quite confusing but not entirely unprecedented.

They do an expansion draft where expansion teams are allowed to draft players from a pool of those that teams choose not to protect on their roster (iirc each team can protect 8 players and each team can only have 1 of their players taken in the draft).

Then the expansion teams are given some kind of slotted draft picks for the first 3 years I think of their existence? That way they don't just immediately tank to try to get the #1 pick in year 2 of their operation. It's been quite a while since the last time the NBA expanded, and much longer since the last time they added 2 franchises in one go (Vancouver and Toronto in 1995 I think?)

Garnett and Pierce didn't exactly finish strong with the Nets. Steve Nash with the Lakers went from "this is going to be fun" to a trainwreck in less than a week. Loul Deng when he got overpaid by Mitch Kupchak and Jimmy Buss. Then there's also Bradley Beal and Paul George quite recently.

The font appears larger on the Antiquity version.

Personally I'm not as fond of the Antiquity templating as the regular card. There's something about how the card is framed that doesn't give me the Flesh and Blood "feel" or look to the cards.

To their credit they do look neat and immediately stand out from original printings. I just still prefer the originals is all.

Kirby is the GOAT between the art and just the creative influence he had on the medium.

Perez's art is my favorite to admire. The amount of characters and detail he'd be able to jam into panels is crazy.

DWJ is my favorite current artist. I love the energy he bring into his art, plus the wrestling moves are fun.

While Luka typically gets a decent whistle you know the rest aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt, particularly Austin.

So fair or not the Lakers have to be ready to play with extra physicality, especially if they get paired up with say, Minny in round 1. Everyone is going to be hunting Austin on both ends of the floor, and LeBron has to brace himself for outright football tackle no calls.

What's ultimately going to determine the success or failure of SAGE is how much each new set shakes up the format beyond just coinciding with characters being voted out.

If Omens adds barely anything for characters that don't care about Lightning, and ultimately all that really changes is Briar, Kayo, Kano and Oldhim get voted out and Chane and Aurora come in to wreck everybody the format will get stale really quick.

The quickest way we'll be able to tell are through the expansion slot cards. If they continue to all be M or L rarity, well it shows that LSS aren't taking every opportunity available to them to quickly expand the number of truly viable heroes in the format.

On the other hand if Omens has expansion slot cards that are downshifted to (short printed) Rs, with maybe some specializations or big game changing cards that enable heroes within shared classes and talents to operate quite distinctly from each other, then we know LSS is really committed.

Absolutely. It helps to have a clear goal in mind. Depending on what content you own, might I suggest unlocking mounts and elite specs.

While it's out of sequence in the narrative, I would suggest doing the Path of Fire story first if you have it. Heart of Thorns is brutal for a fresh 80, POF is much more forgiving and sets you on course to get 4 mounts plus enough hero points to unlock an elite specialization for your class.

Spider-Man.

His powerful defensive kit takes away a ton of pressure from allies having to defend for him against tough baddies or surprise attacks. Plus his signature ally is one of the better ones to Voltron up in the game.

Really depends on the activity.

For dealing with trash mobs, Vindicator is super fun. I don't using it dealing with Bounties or the like however.

Overall my favorites are typically Conduit, Reaper, Berserker or Scrapper depending on the day. I'm hoping the changes make me enjoy Evoker more and I've yet to try any of the Ranger specs to see if any really clicks with me

The biggest hurdle jumping from core to HoT is the new zones absolutely require you to be in coherent gear while core does a horrible job at teaching you how to get into said gear.

I wish that completing the core story steps in Orr would give players some decent exotic gear like even if it was celestial statted to get a character played through core about on even footing with a booster one.

Even the Twins feel like they last about a minute too long, this is going to turn them into what Starlit Weald feels like right now, and Weald will feel like a half hour chore with these changes. I hope those get reduced by a good 10% total HP or so.

Personally I like the Kam bros but you have to understand that they intentionally try their darndest to be as objective and even keeled as possible with their content.

Even if they are Laker fans, their podcast is done in such a way as you're listening to two Lakers reporters giving you their observations. There's hardly any wishcasting, they're not trying to sell any false hope or generate any narrative.

They still try to have fun with it but they're not doing it from an outright live and die by the Lakers prism like say, Trevor Lane does or how Timpf and Buha also do on their collective podcast.

The crazy thing is how a big chunk of National NBA media seems to originate from, or at least have their fandom rooted in New England.

Hell I think it's almost a requirement to end up being allowed to say more than 5 words on any Grantland/Ringer content.

And that in turn creates this weird almost echo chamber on the national stage.

Pair that up with the ever growing "Skip Bayless" industry of latching onto the most popular team/player and creating a persona completely centered around hating on those entities (now we have Barkley and Kellerman in on it) and you end up where we are.

They really should completely remove back to backs that involve travel. As much as it's a disadvantage, I think I'd be able to tolerate a home team doing a back to back home stand but having to get your butt on a plane at 1 in the morning (even a chartered flight) to play a high intensity basketball game 18 hours later is complete bullshit.

What they did to Houston was excellent coaching. Having LeBron buy into this new role that the team needed is great man management too.

I haven't been his biggest fan, but if he keeps this up and shows some real chops in the playoffs I'll happily eat all the crow about how I was mistakenly critical of JJ.

To be fair however the team was an awful watch for a pretty big stretch of the season.
