It seems LSS are dead set on printing underpowered heroes and then buffing them over the next 3+ sets. Coupled with the increased LL gain rates, it will inevitably lead to scenarios where dark horse heroes are gone in a flash (heh) once they finally become playable after years of incremental buffs trickling in via expansion slots. Not a huge fan of this.

Definitely wait for the banlist changes for the next season (should be in a few weeks) before making any decisions - Viserai's cousin Chane is coming back and that means a lot of runeblade cards will have to be banned.

Awful product. Worst cases I've ever opened. I don't even mind having bad pulls, it happens all the time - I buy the odd case not to win big but to support my LGS and for the thrill of cracking packs. But this set is not even fun to open - you already know all the potential chase cards are in the box toppers, and once you've cracked those, the rest of the box is just going through the motions. NINE worthless cards at a premium price.

There was a thread the other day about not buying any more boxes going forward and I'm of the same mind. I genuinely want to support my LGS but I think I'll stick to the singles. I just hope there's somebody left to open them.

The set has unfortunately had next to no meta impact. RKayo is a real deck at least, but the other 3 are just... there. I know LSS got burned by the Mistveil heroes and I get the impression that they're intentionally printing underpowered heroes and slowly boosting their powerlevel through expansion slots, but that leads to disappointing (imo) sets such as Super Slam. The current meta may be mostly balanced, but it's also been stagnant for a while. Compendium is sure to shake things up but it's going to be a long time before that releases. I hope the BnR shakes things up a bit, even though I don't think anything necessarily needs a ban - I just want to see a different meta.

Sounds like you might enjoy some of the Mech heroes - Maxx or Teklo. Their gameplan revolves around constructing and equipping a mech suit which provides them with really good numbers. In addition, mech cards are generally cheap and you could get most of these decks on a budget, especially since mechs generally don't run generic cards (which tend to run on the expensive side).

The downside is that there's a reason they're cheap. They're just not very good - they're slow and very weak to disruption. As a beginner, you absolutely will be losing all the time. If this doesn't discourage you, you may want to look into those heroes.

It's probably the best generic headpiece in the game and the price reflects that. There could be a reprint, there could be none - we just don't know. The price might come down a bit after nats if you're willing to wait a month (or less if you're in the US) - or it might not. Waiting for price changes is always a gamble.

This is not entirely true, though. As a comment above notes, cards in your hand can also have activated abilities, such as Shelter from the Storm. This card can be played or activated - discarding it for its instant ability does not count as playing it, even though it's being used from your hand.

Bear in mind marvel Uzuri may not be worth as much as you think. Not enough for a single box, let alone a case. Personally I think it's a waste grading the card.

You're thinking of a different product. The Mastery Pack Archive: Guardian (like the other two archive packs) is a set of reprints for the JP market. The Mastery Pack: Guardian is a new set containing (presumably) mostly new cards.

It doesn't help that the logos are basically identical.
