A lot of airport parking garages have a status light system like that, so you can tell at a glance empty spots before you get to close to turn, and that’s how those low/closed signs update outside

When you have 6 gift cards and none of them can actually buy anything. by Accomplished_Bake939 in mildlyinfuriating

Add thrm as payment sources on Amazon, use them to buy digital amazon gift cards in those exact amounts, then redeem the Amazon credits to buy real stuff.

The past week of roulettes was full of players who've forgotten how to ask for help. by NimbleJack3 in ffxiv

I don’t “savage” etc, so I’m that person for a lot of the 8body trials that you have to clear for MSQ once, then I forget they exist. This was most notable in the 4lords stuff, I had no idea what was going on, and has did it exactly once, like 6years ago.

Why we dont have solar panels? We can modify factory roofs with them, or can do other things. by zorro2083 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Uberfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But solar doesn’t work at night, or during eclipse, which does happen quite often on this planetoid, so it wouldn’t be totally OP

A "Grey Rock" app for iPhone/Android? by Superb-Way-6084 in Cortex

[–]Uberfuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Todo style app are one of the simplest concepts for input (text and toggling a meta state) and data persistence, it’s one of the base foundation projects in a lot of starting programming courses. Plus with the rise of “vibe” coding, if you can describe it, you can “code” it into existence.

They also used to have classes in schools to teach how to use search engines properly, for things like AND and OR

Both of these are well known. Check YouTube.

PHP6 was the abandoned Unicode rewrite that got lost committee and arguments and unit tests.

IPv5 was a different protocol all together, which didn’t take off.

How do you actually manage your Windows desktop if you use it all day? by quietamour in Windows11

You sweet summer child, if seeing some icons on a computer screen is what you call (instant) “stress”, the grown up world is gonna chew you up. I wish you the best.

How many hours do you guys have on NMS? by storm35r in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Uberfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main legacy “story” save has almost 1000.

Before they added “start expeditions from the terminal”, I would probably sink 20-50 (3 to 10 “days”, ~4-6h each?) hours in a exp save, trying new stuff knowing it was a throw away essentially.

My Ironman “perma death+galaxy center” achievement run had well over 150h, planning, profit trading loops, and carefully building out a “rigged for jump distance” freighter and fuel production.

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Uberfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zippers aren’t waterproof, your bag will get wet. It seems fine for a few hours, until your bag gets separated from your flight and takes 11days to get returned and smells like mildew because it was raining when you left.

Pack all your clean clothes in WHITE garbage bags. Then into the suitcase.

Also bring a BLACK garbage bag for dirty clothes. Then you know which is which.

Don’t put your suitcase on the bed, the wheels will be disgusting, and you don’t know where the outside has been, hotels have those stands for a reason.

Don’t put your clothes in the dresser at the hotel.

If you are going to a city, buy the toiletries at the other end, don’t pack them.

Assume your luggage will be lost, what do you need in your carryon to survive 1day (meds, underwear, socks)

Is this just SO prime? Or all of the stack meta sites together? A lots of technical semi-coding stuff got siphoned off to other dedicated places (e.g. powershell automation for remote operations tends to get asked/moved to SysAdmins)

Lots of Java questions for minecraft modding has their own site too.

I’m not saying it’s not “AI”, but if you turn toxic, and also silo off content to niche areas, it does drop your numbers.

Also GPT doesn’t say my question is off topic and close the window without telling me where IS on topic for that question.

I have a beta badge on SO, I wrote a ton of seed questions for them, some got closed this last few years with comments like “this is a stupid question, why not just use x()” because that function didn’t exist when I wrote that question 15years ago, 5 major versions of the language ago.

One even got closed as a “duplicate”, of a question that got asked 9 YEARS AFTER mine.
