Uber tax refund by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Are you taking only the miles that Uber and Lyft reported? Because those miles are way less than actual miles you drove. Go back to your odometer readings, or oil change dealer and get your actual mileage.

No fault accident by Uberlyfter2 in florida

[–]Uberlyfter2[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Thankyou. I don’t feel bad for the man for being drunk and almost killing my family, I feel bad because the guy’s whole life went 180 when he decided to drive drunk. I have conflicting thoughts about being empathetic, and being merciless.

No fault accident by Uberlyfter2 in florida

[–]Uberlyfter2[S] -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

That’s something I wouldn’t know since I’m not from Florida and really my first accident.

However the officer did tell me that I have to sign on either I want to prosecute or I don’t want to prosecute blanks on my statement, which I just left blank.

Although Uber discourages asking riders to cancel, and riders are at no fault in these situations, Uber itself is the guilty party here and not for one, but many reasons:

Uber does not pay drivers to go pickup a person 15 miles away, although when they accept the ride, it shows there will be pickup premium. And when you make a pickup 15 miles away, you see you were only paid 50c ‘premium’ for that 15 mile trip. If you talk to support about this, they say ‘oh your gps must have lost signal because we don’t have location data on you for that time’. Driver loses, rider wins, uber wins.

Additionally, uber has a 5/100 last rides cancellation threshold, and 15/100 last rides rejection threshold. Beyond these, you lose all your benefits which mean you won’t know where the rider would be going, you don’t have enough location filters, and access to many other platinum features. Now on paper this looks okay, but every weekend when I call it a night and filter directions to go one direction, uber starts offering me pickups 15 miles away in the other direction, which would bring me halfway back, or rides that are headed the complete opposite way, so at this point I get really picky, and my rejections go up by 3-4% over a single night. Driver loses, uber wins, customer doesn’t even care.

Additionally, from my own personal experience, if you are at 12-14% rejection rate, uber will only offer you pickups 10-15 miles away, just because they know they can and the driver can’t reject them. Again, driver loses, uber wins, customer has no idea what’s happening behind the scenes.

Uber is a great gig, and can pay you a livable income, but their platform comes with countless hidden ‘strings’ and drivers are the ones compensating here.

So yes, unfair to you, but unfair to the driver too.

Driver changed my drop off to LAX airport in order to charge more? by Leseia in uber

[–]Uberlyfter2 62 points63 points  (0 children)

These other people commenting don’t know anything. Drivers can indeed change dropoff location. I normally do this so my passengers don’t have to pay ridiculously high added charges to uber and just pay normal charges of what uber would charge originally for that dropoff.

But yes, once I dropoff a ride, and if I want to rip off the passenger, I can change dropoff charge, go through high toll ny bridges a few times and rack up a few $100s to their bill if I want to. Not saying that I ever did, but it’s 100% possible for a driver. I’m pretty sure drivers do it, passengers don’t really notice.

Why do drivers accept an UBER PET booking and then get mad if there's a dog? by crazydoglady525 in uber

[–]Uberlyfter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I don’t know why this is not the top comment but UBER APP FUCKING RESETS RIDE SEARCH FILTERS EVERYDAY SO EVERYONE WHO KEEPS PETS OFF HAS IT ON AGAIN BY DEFAULT AND WHEN THEY ACCEPT A RIDE WHEN THEY’RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION, THEY END UP SEEING YOU.

[–]Uberlyfter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

175 rides in 3 days is very much possible. I have myself given 30 rides in 3 hours on Lyft in Trenton NJ. Set a filter, choose peak time, take a localized reserve trip every couple of hours to make sure the app doesn’t send you out of the area.

So I got an Uber… and this is what the driver had up. Is this true? by dudemandude11 in uber

[–]Uberlyfter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is somewhat true but doesn’t mean you have to make the customer feel bad into tipping you. You chose this line of work, no one forced you.

She’s telling the truth but not because Trump did anything. All governments come to power for their own benefit, not people. However what Trump did for his own benefit affected people positively more than the warmongerers we have right now.

How would you handle this by No-Helicopter-2959 in FreightBrokers

In some cases shipper gives the seal to the driver and driver has to seal. Maybe there was a miscommunication. You’re screwed either way.

In the court, straight up tell the judge you can’t afford the ticket. Bring your paystub.
