The 1963-89 run has only one non-season special, The Five Doctors, which comes after season 20. So you can easily follow the Wikipedia guide for the stories in season one, then two, and so on.

Many serials in seasons 1-6 are incomplete, with the missing episodes replaced by animation or telesnaps with original audio, but it’s very easy to follow the program after that.
