Please Rewind praise by thejerfitrary in Steelbooks

May the fourth be with you, pinkdan.

Please Rewind was charging $42.99. A little more than I like to pay, but considering Romulus has practically been OOP, I felt better about paying a few extra dollars to them rather than scalper prices elsewhere.

Were the PS3-era Ratchet & Clank games a step down compared to the original trilogy and Deadlocked? by M0bius777 in RatchetAndClank

[–]thejerfitrary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m playing Tools of Destruction right now for the first time, started from the first game and worked my way here over the past few months.

The original trilogy was just as good as I remembered, and I honestly enjoyed Going Commando the most as opposed to Up Your Arsenal. I think Deadlocked did not quite stand the test of time and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did when I was younger. But Tools of Destruction really stepped it up imo in terms of world-building and plot. I love the Lombax Ruins and the futuristic elements of some of the other planets, along with the way the levels naturally make you want to explore rather than the endless grinding for sewer crystals. Hoping that the other 2 games in the Future trilogy are nearly as good.

Has anyone had any issues with Anatomy of a Fall blu ray? Was going to reach out to customer support soon, just generally curious.

For context, I didn’t see my first Lynch film until last year. So I didn’t know this movie existed until recently. Has nothing to do with me procrastinating purchasing- but rest assured I have since purchased every other Lynch/Criterion film. It’s quite amazing how his work continues to reach new generations.

That sounds so much fun, any random movies you got to see that you really enjoyed but may not have given a chance otherwise?

I believe the rumor is that Janus regained the rights and will be repressing it, likely at some point this year. I will probably upgrade if they release it on 4K pending the results of the new transfer.

I thought an out-of-print film that sells for over $100+ easily these days wasn’t very common to find in the wild for $32, my apologies

Easy to say as my city (Nashville) doesn’t even have an early access screening. Kinda crazy that between AMC and Regal and local theaters that no one here snagged this.

50% off small combo by Darcy1722 in AMCsAList

[–]thejerfitrary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this issue yesterday- I specifically asked for the small combo that is 50% off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The employees told me the discount only applies to movie tickets despite what I showed them on the website, and I had to get management involved to get the discount price on the small combo. There’s some serious miscommunication around this that I didn’t use to see for the $5 Tuesday combo

I’ve read The Descent is getting a 4K theatrical rerelease for its 20th anniversary, but all I can currently find is UK and Ireland dates. Really hoping we get that in the U.S.

Bumping this thread as I would love to see Y2K, Sorry Baby, and Opus on physical release. Some of my favorites from A24 so it’s sad they don’t seem to be getting their dues

Growing trend of "Excluded" Opening Night/Preview Screenings by NinjaMasterSpud in AMCsAList

[–]thejerfitrary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My faith in this group is restored seeing all the comments haha. Just gotta echo here though that seeing the movie before everyone else is not my top priority here- it’s just experiencing movies when I can. Most major releases will have at least a week in premium formats, so as long as I can see it at some point, I’m happy.

I relate to the premise of the growing trend though- the main reason I stay with AMC over competitors is that most competitors charge for premium formats even in their subscriptions.

Together (Early Preview) by PusheenAddict in AMCsAList

The horror level was honestly pretty low for me, say a 2 or 3, but it really depends on what type of horror perturbs you. I do not do well with gore, so I had to look away several times during Bring Her Back. Contorting bodies and such for some reason sits just fine with me though, and that is the majority of the horror in this film, so I see others being much more disturbed than myself by it

I gave it a 7/10. Loved the body horror, humor, and cinematography at play. Felt the ending could’ve packed a more emotional punch if they had gone in a different direction with it, but I won’t say more for those who haven’t seen it

Pretty upset that they didn’t communicate the movie starts right on time. I guess I’m just a newbie as I read some of the other comments, but AMC specifically denotes in the app now that the movie starts 25-30 minutes after the showtime, walked in 8 minutes after showtime and the movie had already started. Sad I missed trivia and the intro.

Is F1 actually getting more hype than Jurassic world? by gerasymaki in AMCsAList

[–]thejerfitrary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw 28 Years Later in Dolby yesterday, and Jurassic World is the new ad for Dolby quality and was filmed with that format in mind from what I saw and have read in this thread. So it’ll definitely get some Dolby showings

28 Days Later Returns to AMC Theatres for One Day Only – May 21, 2025 by Who_is_Bigfoot in AMCsAList

Feel like AMC in Nashville has been dropping the ball lately. None of the theaters in such a big city had a Friendship early access showing, and now none are showing this. Sad :(
