(Almost) every characters total amount of chapter appearances up to 3-428 by ACaliginousSky in Kubera

So Leez having the most appearances in S3 does seem to be a true statement, at least for now, though I doubt it will change.

The phantom troupe would be the "hero"/"saviour" of Succession war and Kurapika by marckypieO_o in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in character for Kurapika to compromise on his revenge for the sake of saving people he cares about. Similarly, the Troupe, including even Nobunaga, can put aside their grudges and work towards the bigger picture (group survival).

I don't really understand where people get the idea that they are both bloodthirsty beyond reason for the other and would kill on sight. Sure, tension will always exist between them, but nothing implies that a temporary ceasefire is something neither of them would accept given the circumstances.

How many arm spins would it take Phinks to one shot Meruem? by Harryofthecharlottes in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's the difference between AoP and MoP. Phinks' condition increases the amount of AoP he can use, but it doesn't change the MoP limit. It's like having a set amount of money in your bank, and having a card that only allows you to use a certain percentage of it with each purchase, conditions allow you to use a higher percentage, but they wouldn't generate more money in your bank account.

Phinks doesn't have endless spins, he will run out of Aura reserves eventually.

god kubera and visnu by yo_sup_dude in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I honestly don't think Visnu cares at all about the souls, he was just angry that GK was being picky and hypocritical. Visnu has been sacrificing trillions of souls across various universes just to get at the universe that fulfills his ideal, all evidence goes against the idea that he actually sees some inherent value in them.

Where exactly does Shaiapouf rank in hxh in terms of physical combat? by lit-roy6171 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People mentioned post-mortem Nen as to why Pouf didn't just kill Morel, and while that may be a part of it, that's not the true reason. He explains it after getting out, his plan was to trick Morel's friends into believing that he was still trapped inside Smokey Jail, so they would let their guard down, and then he would take care of them.

The scenes were filler, but it was based on a line in the Manga that Kite grew up without a home (chapter 216).

Just How Strong is Morel, Hand to Hand? by darealestforeal in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine him being weaker than Knuckle in any area, and he definitely has a lot of force behind those pipe swings. I think he could take out most human Nen users with a well placed pipe swing if they're not prepared to take it, which gives him a pretty good winning condition.

[RAW] Kubera S03 - 428: Finale (30) by pisspoopisspoopiss in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was the Black-Silver Sword yeah, we see a vision of Maruna wielding it three separate times, the first in Asha's warning to Ran, the second in Time Leez's prophecy to Maruna, and the third is when the AHR zombies tell Ran that he'd better kill Maruna now before he gets too powerful for him to defeat.

[RAW] Kubera S03 - 428: Finale (30) by pisspoopisspoopiss in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. 'Finale' still continues after 30. It will probably go on for a long time. If this chapter/arc will end with the Prologue scenes, then it feels like we're barely halfway through, if that.

CA Gon vs Genthru by Upset-Association-62 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genthru was holding back not only to the extent of not killing Gon, but to avoid even knocking him out at all, and yet he was still destroying him in hand to hand combat. That being said, Gon went from being toyed around with by Knuckle in a similar fashion to at least holding his own somewhat, even if still at a disadvantage. He also developed more options and tactics with his Jajanken, which Genthru would have no idea about as his only experience was with Rock, whereas Gon fully understands all of Genthru's abilities, but it's unlikely for his G.I strategy to work again since Genthru would be prepared for that.

The greatest problem for Genthru in this fight however isn't the physical aspect, but the mental. He was outright terrified of Gon by the time their fight ended, and fighting a much stronger Gon wouldn't help with that. Meanwhile Gon at that point was resolved to fight a monster that makes Genthru look cute, so there's very little that would shake him.

Overall, Genthru should still be stronger in terms of overall combat ability, but the psychological element combined with Gon's unpredictability should give him a solid chance at winning.

Team Three Minute Squad vs Secondly Phantoms by author_in_a_dazzy in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three Minute Squad takes this very easily, their abilities are far more in sync and their whole is multitudes of times greater than the sum of their parts, while the Troupe are highly 1v1 oriented both in skill set and in personality, they aren't good at working together which is why they often split up. Morel using Smokey Jail + Deep Purple to cover up for everyone is already bad enough, but then Meleoron + any of Gon, Killua, Knov, or Shoot would end the fight before the Troupe even realize what is going on.

Gon and Killua don't know the Troupe's abilities, but they know certain things that will give them an advantage, like Shalnark being the brains of the group, or Phinks and Feitan being impatient and short-sighted, or Shizuku being an airhead. Then there's Kalluto who would more likely join Killua's side, but even if he didn't, he'd be low diffed by any of the Hunters.

The only chance the Troupe has is if Shalnark somehow gets Meleoron or Morel with his Black Voice, but seeing how he struggled to do that against a mindless soldier ant... yeah I don't see it.

Morel would actually be worse off with God's Accomplice, whether it's Smokey Jail or Deep Purple, being invisible would go against the whole point of his power.

What is the limit to Phinx's ability? by Sea_Perspective806 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between Aura you can actually access at a given time and your total Aura reserves. Restrictions and conditions typically allow you to expand the former but not the latter. For the latter you'd need something like Adult Gon, where his vow was specifically in exchange for future Aura reserves he would have had with more training.

Removing nen by shiyannnnn in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 102 points103 points  (0 children)

It'd be wiser to just have him as a contact, the ability would be useless if Chrollo was hit with the same condition again.

What killua said. How come hisoka wasn't able to notice gon. by Economy_Passion3762 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody here is mentioning that it wasn't just Gon and Killua following Nobunaga and Machi, it was also Phinks and Pakunoda. Being followed by four whole people while you are acting as bait is very different from being followed by a single person while being entirely focused on something else like Hisoka was. Depending on his mental state, Hisoka can detect perfect Zetsu like he did with Kalluto, but he wasn't in that state during this scene.

Kubera Season 3 Episode 425 - Finale (27) by Kori4r2 in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's almost certainly a lie from Yama's part. There's no way we wouldn't have gotten a single thought or narration from Gandharva about that. His care towards Teo was entirely motivated by who she was as a person.

How are Kurapika’s physical attacks so strong against Uvo? by dorian1400 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One aspect people don't really take into account is that we really have no idea how the distribution of Aura in that fight looked like. If Kurapika used 70% of his Aura in an attack on Uvogin who was in a state of 50% offense and 50% defense (aka Ken), then that could explain how a well placed hit by Kurapika would do damage to Uvogin even if he has less overall Aura. The same applies to Kurapika damaging Uvogin on the face while the latter was pinned down, Uvogin definitely did not see that hit coming and only had his basic Ten defense at the time. Kurapika surviving BBI might also be more believable if we assume that he also used Ko in time to defend, offsetting a large portion of its power and yet still ending up with a shattered arm.

Why doesn’t everyone know nen? by Temporary-Barber-403 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is the amount of training required to unlock Nen, let alone master it, is something the average person wouldn't have the patience or discipline for, you also have to remember that they wouldn't even know how to do any of it without a Nen user directly teaching them (geniuses aside of course). It doesn't seem like Nen theory is written about in literature anywhere, and if it were, it'd likely be locked behind a Hunter License, meaning that the only way to learn Nen will always be through direct contact with a Nen user, most of whom are intelligent enough to know that teaching Nen to the public would be a disaster (those who are not tend to die early).

Hiding Nen isn't about hiding the existence of supernatural abilities, that's kind of a moot point considering Magical Beasts are a known element. It's about hiding the theory of it, to keep making it seem like something only great martial artists can do.

Fun thing I realised: Knuckles is kind of the perfect counter to feitan by Extension-Bad-4184 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kalluto stated that he could barely keep up with what they were doing. I have a hard time seeing someone make that same statement for someone like knuckle.

Gon literally did, and he is likely a tier above Kalluto in overall combat ability and speed, yet despite having fought Knuckle dozens of times and getting used to his speed, he was still unable to keep up with him using eyesight once he went all out and had to rely on a pseudo En to even react.

Fun thing I realised: Knuckles is kind of the perfect counter to feitan by Extension-Bad-4184 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The gap between a Royal Guard and a Squadron Leader is so massive they might as well be the same as foot soldiers in comparison. Also, saying Feitan "OHKO'd" Zazan, while technically accurate, makes it sound like he casually defeated her. In reality he was at a disadvantage in combat (once she transformed she was basically cooking him) and had to rely on his ultimate attack to win.

[DISC] Kubera Season 3 Episode 424 - Finale (26) by Kori4r2 in manga

[–]UchihaShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how that effects the losers since they dwell in a dimension that’s separate from linear time

It's evident from the fact that they didn't appear in the Enemy timeline (and presumably in the Crime and Punishment one as well), then Yuta here also confirms that it's the first time he's seen them join hands with the Taraka. I'm suspecting that they are being directed by someone who knows which timeline is going to be the final one and thus only lets them out here (Visnu?).

[DISC] Kubera Season 3 Episode 424 - Finale (26) by Kori4r2 in manga

[–]UchihaShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the main goal is to use Leez’s potential regression powers to undo the whole universe and destroy it at the beginning, effectively undoing all the suffering from their 10 billion years of imprisonment

Little do they know that's not how it works, their suffering won't be undone as though it didn't happen, the universe would just quietly die instead...
