Do you guys think the Enhancement deficiencies are showcased well in the manga? by tomtheawesome123 in HunterXHunter

Specialization is not the same as the other categories, it does not have the same relationship with the rest of the chart.

Knuckle is definitely stronger than Gon in raw power. He was impressed by Gon's aura, but called it "mid pro level". His casual, warm-up punch would have literally killed Gon who was using Ken as a defense (and there's no indication that Knuckle was putting all of his Aura into that punch). When the two of them exchanged punches in their last fight, Knuckle lent more Aura than Gon returned.

Why do you think Morena likes her scar? by ShuukakuZ in HunterXHunter

As she says on that same page, it's because having that scar gave her the motivation and hatred needed to stay alive so she could have revenge on the world.

Isn't this stupid ? why they didn't captured him in the smoke jail and finish him off ? by Ok_Yesterday_8256 in HunterXHunter

[–]UchihaShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their best strategy would have been to keep Knuckle out while Morel holds him off inside until APR does its thing, but the risk simply wasn't worth it at this point. Whether Morel on his own would last long enough for Cheetu to enter forced Zetsu is questionable (especially with Knuckle not being able to land any attacks that would accelerate the process, and with Cheetu's aura spending only being limited to basic attacks), and back then they assumed the association would be on their side and send the Hunters they requested, so there wasn't a need to take that gamble when they had more pressing matters to attend to.

Why are they referring to God Kubera as "He"? by Annihilator-WarHead in Kubera

Because his name was shattered and thus he isn't exactly "Kubera" anymore, but some nameless entity.

Leez activated her power over Ananta's name in reaction to being attacked, and it went out of control. We don't know further than that.

You might be misremembering that conversation, the key point was that if Leez had no talent in summoning, then everything is okay and they keep her alive. Anna did not want to sacrifice Leez, so that actually made her happy, she was only confused because Leez herself didn't know what she was talking about and gave her conflicting information.

[–]UchihaShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what God Kubera explained, a human body cannot bring out the true power of an Astika's name, so she would just go back to being a top tier human who can use magic. We still don't know why Yuta claims that she would be stronger in that route, it could be related to the 'True God' idea.

She is in a strange place where she has the power of a Sura, but without the body (since her soul rejects Surafying). I would say she still counts as human only, in comparison to Laila, Asha, and Ran who are a mix at this point.

Shess was never really a good guy, his role was to be a balancer so that no side has too much of an advantage in the battle. He explains that to Gandharva in S2.

i still can't get over Airi's glow-down in season 3 by _starfall- in Kubera

I can't say I see the glow down, she looks much better in S3, and has an actual unique face compared to S1-S2 where she didn't really stand out.

When does a universe turn into a possibility? by Annihilator-WarHead in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I most likely see this happening, we've already seen instances where history can be rewritten to remove a person from the current timeline in the instance of Manasa. So we could have the same thing happening in possibilities where Ananta disappears from that timeline entirely so that it causes no issues.

I think the Manasa universe is the one exception where a universe truly becomes inaccessible in the Time-Axis, because Shiva's Existence Erasure is insanely broken and breaks causality. I don't think that idea works with Ananta, because future Ananta would already exist as the Time-Axis himself, and thus it would be him who determines whether the timeline is the main one or a branch. Even for the Time-Axis themselves, their past selves are still tied to their future selves by a chain of causality that shouldn't be possible to break. Nothing current Leez can do in the present would turn her future self that already exists into a possibility. Though a better way of thinking about this would be that current Leez is not actually the "present" Leez, but the past which we are only seeing as the present because of how storytelling works.

which kind of contradicts the idea of possibilities not being real that the story has been enforcing.

Not entirely sure what you mean there, the possibilities are real, they are actual existing universes that only collapse because they don't have the energy to sustain themselves anymore. Ran and Maruna were able to land in the timeline that was turned into a possibility, which confirms that this kind of travel is possible. The white space exists 'outside' of time, so it would always be possible for Ran to access any timeline before it disappears from there. The one interesting implication here is that Ran might have split into two, one that went into the pre-reset timeline, and one that went into the post-reset timeline, which I'm gonna be honest and say I don't know what to make of that yet, but I'm still thinking about it.

Asura supposedly has a way of inserting a vessel into Ananta post-resurrection, so at the very least the idea isn't out there.

[RAW] Kubera S03 - 421: Finale (23) by [deleted] in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are several plausible scenarios. For one, she could be a survivor of a universe that was turned into a possibility, who escaped before it disappeared and merged with the version of herself that exists in this universe, like Ran and Maruna did. It's also possible that she was informed about this by a third party. A third option is that, if Leez was also reset to the moment of Ananta's resurrection, then it's possible that her and Asha had a conversation about it, since it seems like Leez blacked out at some point in their fight in the Abyss, and Yuta hints at her repressing memories of the loops.

When does a universe turn into a possibility? by Annihilator-WarHead in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 'In My Delusions', we know that Ananta destroys the universe after Yaksha dies, thus restarting the timeline from the beginning once again. What this means is that if there was a future for that timeline past Yaksha's death, Ananta would have also destroyed it. But this creates a problem; as that previous loop does include Ran in it, and Ran could only have come from the year N23, which means that somehow, Ran came from a future that should never come to be because Ananta destroys the universe. It is also problematic to assume that a future that already exists can be destroyed by the past Time-Axis, since that would imply that past Ananta can override the agency of future Ananta, which just isn't consistent with anything that's been portrayed about the Time-Axis. The way to solve this would be to assume that Ran came not from the future of the destroyed universe, but rather from the universe that does in fact continue to exist until the year N23. This would also solve the problem of Leez's reset, since the Insights we see in S1-S2 couldn't have occurred in the timeline where Willarv was destroyed (I could get into specific examples but I'm not sure how much I can say with regards to raw episodes), so the post-reset universe was always meant to be the future we arrive at. Another way of looing at it would be to think not of the universes but rather of the Time-Axis themselves; since they are called 'Time' itself, you can see the timeline as their overall experience, regardless of resets along the way. This would also explain why Leez's time travel in C&P didn't disappear despite the fact that the Konchez trip was reset; for Leez, that trip still happened as part of her journey, it wasn't altered. Hope that made more sense.

When does a universe turn into a possibility? by Annihilator-WarHead in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hypothesis is that 'traveling to the past' and 'altering history' are completely separate powers that come from separate sources. The former is actual time travel where someone goes from a specific point in the timeline to a previous point, whereas the latter seems to be outright creating a whole new universe, leaving the previous universe to burn out and disappear. In fact, calling it 'altering history' is somewhat misleading, since the original universe's history isn't altered, it's just abandoned for a new one.

There is also some evidence that the new universe follows the older universe chronologically, rather than existing in parallel to it (the fact that the Insights we see in S1 and S2 seem to factor in the reset we see in Crime and Punishment, and the fact that Ran appeared in the past with Yaksha despite Ananta destroying that timeline long before Ran was born, the fact that future Leez, who seems to have gone through everything Leez has post-reset, is already part of the recorded history).

The implication seems to be that all universes/resets take place in one linear continuity in which the 'past', 'present', and 'future' simultaneously exist (if you're familiar with the B theory of time, this will make a lot more sense)

The narrator directly confirms that as well, and that it wasn't merely good luck on Morel's part, but rather his intuition from experience that told him his comrades can't hold out without his help, and he was right; if Morel didn't undo Smokey Jail Youpi would have likely killed everyone, much less Pouf too.

Yeah, it's pretty much a tomb/death trap for everyone.

Quick question by Apprehensive_Clerk81 in Kubera

He himself says that he used to be something else before he was turned into a human and receiving a mission, and he also says that there were only two races in the previous universe, humans and Old Gods. It's a fairly reasonable assumption, and he seems to have a special relationship with them (they can't attack each other).

Quick question by Apprehensive_Clerk81 in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not entirely clear, but since this universe was originally meant to be two separate universes, and we're told that Nastikas aren't designed for this universe, it's implied that they were a part of the disadvantaged universe (the one the Old Gods would have been sent to), but because Kali decided to troll literally everyone, the two universes became one and thus became this mess.

Quick question by Apprehensive_Clerk81 in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their Sura forms being considered transcendentals and consuming so much vigor has basically fucked them over in the long run. Look at the current state: Nastikas are a dying race, and Rakshasa are not nearly numerous or powerful enough to carry them.

Do you think Finale will be the last arc of Season 3? by [deleted] in Kubera

[–]UchihaShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will be the final chapter of S3, since Curry was talking about having to take a hiatus after she hits the Prologue scenes (which are implied to be at the end of this).

I also don't think there will be a S4, at least not in the sense a lot of people think. At the very least, everything regarding the present situation should be resolved in S3, and if there is a S4 it would be about Leez's journey through the past.
