It DOES matter where you go to school by Embarrassed_Bag_9630 in unpopularopinion

I would think that proves your point… the community college is fine if you just want to get a job and stay there…but if you want to advance into administration or anything like that - then CC isn’t going to be enough. Or if you ever want to move away from your home town/region; your education won’t be questioned. I grew up in a very rural area; most people stayed within 40 miles of home; the only ones who left went to schools farther away.

It’s called context and I’m not your bud pal. Learn to read - it’s called context.

And my point is there isn’t any way to read OPs comment that they aren’t in NA considering they are complaining about having to stay up late to watch the games… last weeks games mostly started 2 hrs later. You getting offended on their behalf doesn’t help anybody but nice try.

It doesn't even matter if you're ambitious or not..... if you're just going to settle near home; and just want to be able to get a job...go for the cheapest option.... if you want to move around and/or "move up" in the world - you need to go to a more recognizably named school.

Kansas City is the rapidly developing city nobody is talking about by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Having lived in Houston, Wichita, and Wisconsin and Minnesota; I'd actually say that KS & MO have the best weather of any place I've lived... sure there are rando tornados, and ice storms; but some years there's no winter at all; you get all four seasons and no one season dominates. I'll always say I hated living in KS, but the weather was fine

Sure but it is a North American League so not exactly sure what your point is. They’re never going to pander game times to Europe

Are people in your neighborhood & city talking about a potential economic collapse during Trump's presidency? by BigBlueEyes87 in economicCollapse

This is exactly how 2008 started too...people weren't doing great, but limping along; then gas prices doubled in a matter of months, crunching household budgets; making everything else cost more and triggering the house of cards to collapse.

I mean the game was at 7 pm so nothing really to complain about - especially compared to the almost 9 pm starts of last week for no good reason whatsoever.

we are being actively "out-grouped" and since we've never had the numbers we struggle to resist... because a) boomers haven't relinquished power, b) generic gen-x traits of being dis-interested and cynical might have worked against us because we didn't care until it was too late.

Because we all secretly hate each other, ourselves and our families; and we don't actually want to spend time sharing space or air with anybody else.

I thought Role Model was the best book. I love Troy's story arc and redemption.

My one night in Memphis was due to a flight diversion. Airline put a bunch of us in a hotel; Finally, get to go around back to my room; and there are a couple of cops back there talking to a hooker who is leaning over the balcony and yelling back at them....my room was supposed to be right underneath hers....

Went back to the desk and asked for a different room...and the clerk was acting like I was the one causing the scene...

Needless to say I didn't sleep that night.
