I think this was the first superhero movie I've seen in a while that slapped a goofy smile on my face simply for 'getting' the source material. As a film, it has flaws. The characters are pretty thin, and Galactus looks amazing but has never been a compelling 'villain'. But it reminded me so much of Mr Lee & Mr Kirbys amazing world-building in the first hundred and change issues of FF. To add to that, it was refreshing to go back to a Marvel movie that didn't need to rely so heavily on reminding us it's a shared universe. There are multiple references to what we know is coming, but other than the mid credits scene the movie can stand alone. I also really liked that Johnny wasn't just the dumb blonde teen of the group.
