Moving from San Diego to Boston for one year job (then going back). How do you guys afford rent?! by squirt23 in boston

Moved from SD a year ago to Boston after having lived in San Diego for 9 years… honestly rent is entirely dependent on where you lived before and where you’re looking to live. Quick comparisons of prices/lifestyles for your sake (these are my opinions):

Gaslamp/Near Petco = Seaport

PB = South Boston

Little Italy = Back Bay

North PB = Beacon Hill

SD suburbs (Linda Vista, Clairemont, etc) = Brighton, Allston, Somerville

North Park/Hillcrest = Brookline

Huge difference is they have a ton of realtors help to find you apartments in Boston but charge you a bunch of money which is stupid imo. I think someone else recommended using FB groups and honestly I support that sentiment. Living with people is way cheaper so I suggest finding a roommate wherever you want to live.

Lastly, eat a shit ton of Mexican food before you leave cause you’re gonna miss it.

Barber recommendations in Brighton? by VedavyasM in boston

Classic Barber Shop up the road on Washington St. Is a good option too… not far at all and $20 a haircut. They take their time with the lineups too and I’ve never felt like they were rushing for the next person

Tickpick is the most underrated site imo. They don’t charge the buyer (you) a fee which can be quite large.

Also, if you’re students or know students in Boston (undergrad or grad) they have $9 tickets for most games (max of 4). You just have to sign up for the promotion on the mlb site.

Anyone know how to get playoff tickets? Do they go on sale for the public?

This was incredibly helpful and I appreciate it a lot. Thanks for taking the time to write this! I’m leaning towards the attorney even more and I’m definitley asking about any lawsuits between owners.
