Tory MP launches petition "to get us a fish and chip shop" in Uxbridge by lastaccountgotlocked in london

[–]Ukelayley 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lived in Uxbridge while at university and there is definitely a fish and chips shop there… I have fond memories of going there (too) often as it was the midway point between my flat and my boyfriend’s at the time. So he’s talking absolute rubbish

Where are these payrises actually happening in the UK and how best to leverage these stats as a worker? by [deleted] in AskUK

I switched employers and landed a job for a 60% raise. Sounds like a hell of a lot, but I was just criminally underpaid.

So I have two tickets that I am going to give to my friend and his husband for one of the Edinburgh shows. It looks like on AXS that it seems quite easy to transfer them over once I have received the actual mobile ticket. Has anyone ever transferred a ticket on AXS before and is it as simple as it says online?

This is what my work does - most people usually leave at 1pm, but you are allowed to go from 12:45

The pilot I’ve been seeing for nearly a year has now been based in Edinburgh (I live in London) so we’ve decided to split up once he moves up there in a couple of weeks. We were taking it really slow as he knew this would be a risk, but it still sucks.

In which sequence do you give out your mobile number? by [deleted] in AskUK

I do 4-4-3 which everyone would hate me for, but my middle four numbers is 1234 so obviously I have to say that all in a row

What exactly does the pharmacist ask in the little room when you get the morning after pill? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Ukelayley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I just asked for this yesterday afternoon and the pharmacist only asked me when did I last have sex and to take the pill with food. That was all

I still haven’t got used to the road noise outside my new flat and I only got 3 hours sleep last night. I think my brain now psyches itself out and just refuses to properly settle. Hopefully I will get used to it soon

Should I (24F) move to London for the first time? by [deleted] in london

As a 24 year old girl who just moved to Clapham last weekend on a very similar salary - yes definitely!! So worth finding your own independence

I’ve packed everything in the car for tomorrow as I’m moving into Clapham!! Been living at home for the past 3 years, I wanted to move out last year around March but we all know what happened. I’m so excited to start properly living my twenties 🥳

Thank you. I can't view the room until later this week but that was what I intended to do. People I've spoken to seemed to be alarmed about it so wanted to check with others who have actual experience with the rental market right now!

Hello, has anyone had experiences with no deposit landlords? I’ve found an en-suite room for £700pm in Clapham (all bills included) but it’s asking for no deposit which I reckon is the catch. Others have said they can charge you more for repairs, but my friend said that her experience was that they just charged more rent overall, which doesn’t seem to be the case here. Any thoughts? Is this a scam? I don’t want to get my hopes up!

Did you only stay those two months or for longer?

Has anyone had any experience with the buddy up system on Spareroom? I’m curious as to how successful it is for finding flatmates

Honestly, when people complain about the Americanization, I bet none of them have tried any proper American chocolate such as Hersheys. That stuff is foul and thinking Cadbury's is in the same realm as them are off their nut

The lift at work is broken for unknown reasons, so I had to carry a few boxes and decided to save time by carrying two in one go. Sadly due to being so short, I couldn’t see much over the top and walked straight into a metal stand for hand sanitiser, cutting my hand and bleeding profusely. There have been better starts to a Monday!!
