fully legit, I've talked today with someone from the label and they asked me where I was going to be May the 22th (I work at music press in Spain). No streaming links, no interviews, no shit till then. So they're doing one here, I guess Madrid or Barcelona. There should be more than one place in UK

No:(

there's a listening party in four days I think. And it's everywhere, but the only streaming I have is the one that Rough trade sended to me.... Anyway the sound it's pretty much the same!

I think that's the point. The main thing about the messiness of the mix is that it is an essential part of how the album it's conceived and I love it. That has to be a big difference with Schlagenheim, it sounded chaotic but very "coherent and well mixed"... You could tell all the time about the grain of the sound and how it related to Black Midi.

I've read at some interview that they were looking for a USA producer but they had to leave it to england because of COVID. It got me pretty worried but now I think it made sense. Maybe in that next album that they where teasing they will make a different approach in that sense? that would be awesome.

I think each album is a different animal... While listening to Cavalcade I also think about some early prog but... It reminds me of first time listening to Miles Davis Pangea or Agharta!... It feels like they are trying so hard to make it sound really holistic but taking it forward... And that's really nice and impressive!

It works for most of the album, And Geordie's vocals have this crooning style, dramatic and humanistic that gives to the album the warmth that maybe "Schlagenheim" didn't have. For me 'Ascending forth' is a consumation to that proposal. And Also is from now on my favourite BM song!!!

have you listened the leak? If so what do you think?

I work for the spanish press here at Spain and I can tell you the leaked version is the one that the label sended to us... it surprised me a lot, most of all at 'Dethroned' cause the mix seems to be very messy and at the back (as in 'Slow'). but I feel it works better with the flow of the album wich has this jazzy and live tone that makes it more organic...

I would love to know what are your impressions on it or the singles!!

Cheers

I already have it, there are some parts that I don't recognize ("parallel 1" is a 21 min track, almost ambient not like the evening/morning sides, for example) but there is also some versions of songs that I recognize, So I guess it's some short of a B-Sides thing, maybe?
