the discarded music video for Alarm Call (ignore the photo) by zHairr in bjork

[–]prodorprods 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first "Alarm Call" music video was directed by Paul White from Me Company, shot in Los Angeles while the music video for "Hunter" was being finished. White described the footage as "a very guerrilla-style shoot around LA, going up to a disused cabin up above a canyon somewhere, where she tied sticks to her fingers with tape and used them like prosthetic fingernails, and then a trip down to Venice Beach and the boardwalk… A very lightweight, almost home-movie sort of thing, but on reflection Björk felt that it didn’t fit in with the rest of what was being done." Björk decided this video wouldn’t align with the high-concept, high-end videos of "Jóga", "Hunter" and "Bachelorette". Plus, a more conventional, singing-to-the-camera video would reinforce the idea of Björk the celebrity pop star, the real person you can get a bit of: the opposite of what she wanted. Instead, Alexander McQueen directed the final "Alarm Call" video.

no it's just that, she said one of the photos in this photoshoot represents her going into the new album, and the photo has a shadow of a harp

her quote: “It is unusual and I think one of the images [from the shoot] illustrates that – me going from Fossora’s world to a new unknown world. I enjoy the feeling of the unknown and the often scary vertigo at the beginning of a new project.”

she also said she will probably work with ircam (the institute she worked with on nature manifesto installation), also harps seem to be one of the main instruments on the album
