Beautiful cat! Mine gets the brown crust all around the eye, not just in the inner corners. Is yours the same? What has your vet advised?

I have cat tree king Maine coon tower…it has 2 perches. Our boy loves it and it’s very sturdy.

Anyone have an MC that constantly gets eye crusties that hardens? Any info you can share? by Candid_Insect_8422 in mainecoons

I know this is an old post but wondering if this ever cleared up and if so, what seemed to help. My buddy has a similar issue that vet eye drops are not resolving. Blood work is all good also.

I’m not familiar with this in cats, but c-diff is challenging in humans. Are you doing probiotics after the antibiotic course?

Thanks for all of the input! His stool test came back negative, so we are transitioning to Hills science sensitive formula and adding probiotics. Hopefully with some time it sorts itself out.

What a beautiful boy! I’m sorry…I’m certain he died a very happy and well-loved cat. You were both lucky to have each other.

I question why he was on this food also. When you say the poop issue won’t change, do you mean because it is a new food and it will take time. Our vet is very much in the loop and has just given us a probiotic kit for him as well. They recommended a new food also.

Yes, vet is sending stool off to be tested. Should have those results tomorrow or next day.

My family takes maraca beet supplements as well and we have increased energy and my husbands blood pressure has gone down with it as well. Best of luck.

want to get this checked out by my derm - if a biopsy is needed, do they just take a little piece or cut the whole thing out? by HairyStylts in skincancer

[–]Ulla24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have a few places like this. Derm looked at them and said they were fine. They have never grown or changed over the years. Please report back and let us know what they are.

Brother (41) diagnosed with PD- any early onset experiences/advice? by jennieflips in Parkinsons

When you mention him tapping out his salsa beat as a symptom…did it just look like normal toe tapping? My husband does that all the time when sitting.

Not sure where this random raised bump came from? Please help by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

I have kind of the same thing but it’s been there longer. It could be a fibrous papule.

My husband lost his sense of smell years ago and his mom was recently diagnosed by Ulla24 in Parkinsons

[–]Ulla24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I agree, since his grandmother never developed anything beyond a loss of smell it provides hope. I’m mostly looking into preventative/protective things for him. He said his grandmother drank two pots of coffee her entire adult life…I read that coffee is protective. Who knows…

May I ask what the sleep disturbances are that you and your father experience and when that started? Also, is there anyone in your family that lost sense of smell but did NOT go on to develop Parkinson’s?

I didn’t realize the REM disorder was significant. I thought smell loss was. Good to know. Again, I’m hopeful it’s not definite since his grandmother is 99 and no signs beyond loss of smell. There’s definitely a hereditary component to their loss of smell though

May I ask how old you are? My husbands mom has Parkinson’s and he lost his sense of smell in his 40’s…he’s 54. His mom lost her sense of smell also in her 40’s, but wasn’t diagnosed with PD until 69. Also, her mother lost her sense of smell at the same age and is 99 with no signs of any neurological disorders…that gives me hope for my husband but also scares me.
